So sad for Adam. Hope you get better soon.

I think he has been fighting this for several days. A few days ago I saw him between songs, get a drink, and also spray the back of his throat.
If not treated this could get worse, pneumonia could set in. If he misses tonight he has today, Monday and Tuesday, to rest and stay in bed.
Our prayers are with you Adam and do what the doctor says. Love coming your way. Anne Marie

Poor Adam....I can't remember a time when he cancelled a show due to sickness. If he's under doctors orders it must be pretty bad.

Sending you healing light and love Adam and praying for a quick recovery.

I'm also praying for a quick recovery. He is such a hard worker, and never wants to disappoint his fans.

Poor baby and pity for Q and all fans.
Get well soon, Adam!!!
In sickness and in health...we love.
They worked so hard and made crowds mesmerized where ever they were.
Maybe this means that QAL may be back to Brussels later.

I know he wants to be ready for Milan on Tuesday, but if he's not well enough, he shouldn't do it. Bronchitis isn't something to take lightly, esp. for a big-voiced singer like Adam is. He might have to wait till Stuttgart on Friday. His throat and voice is the most important thing. Shows can be re-scheduled. I'm sure he wants each audience to get his best performances.

Oops. just read on the earlier thread that the Brussels venue can't be re-scheduled. Too bad for all those fans. Hope he's healthy enough for Milan.

Healing wishes to Adam.
We know he hates to miss a performance but his health is more important. I feel sad for the fans that were ready to go and see Queenbert. I know I would be very conflicted if the show I was to see was cancelled. Would want him well, but would also be upset not to get to see them perform...

I listened to him sing "Save Me" in Frankfurt, and his inhaling between phrases was very heavy and audible. You never hear that with Adam normally. He's really got chest congestion issues. Rest, BB.

Fortunately he is well versed, in taking care of his voice. He is a strong advocate of hot tea and honey, which is what Google suggested also as well as bed rest. Someone also said cough drops or syrup, also help. It was mentioned that the aftermath could last for a couple of months. But I am sure he will be back singing soon, if even not quite better. The songs will be adjusted, as they were at the last concert. One good thing the tour is almost over. I doubt all that cold damp weather has helped any, he isn't used to it.

I hope bronchitis isn't code for I have been overusing my vocal cords.

"Severe bronchitis" means Adam's sick and needs to take care of himself in order to get well....

Well there has been a bug going around. Brian was sick last week and perhaps others in the band are also at risk. Sorry they cant reschedule and the fans are disappointed.

Just after I have arrived from Frankfurt today, I read the sad news that Queen had to cancel their concert in Brussel. Though it was a great performance yesterday I noticed that instead of Adams performance in Cologne he was saving his voice because of a possible cold. But this is more serious than a common cold. I hope that he takes the time that is needed to avoid severe consequences on the health of his voice.
All the best wishes and hopes that he will feel fine again soon.

@10:02, I personally doubt it....it's not characteristic of him. I don't recall him ever canceling a performance in the past. Plus, I thought he was in fine vocal form before he got sick. Wishing you a speedy recovery Adam!

Hi 10:02 :)....

Vocal cord over-use comes on gradually and can be gradually audibly detected, as well. Adam's voice has sounded - prior to Saturday night in Frankfurt - astoundingly clear, bright and powerful.... No indications of typical effects of over use. (Though, this period of vocal rest certainly won't do him harm, either.... As a jam-packed singing tour is arduous).

Adam is a seasoned pro when it comes to touring and using his voice.... It has been said about him over the years that he does not cancel performances and is very consistent while working, and that he is able to do things with his voice that most singers cannot (endurance, range, technique). As other's here have brought forward, Adam has performed over a hundred concerts without a break or cancel (this is fairly standard with Adam... with his 'Wicked' & 'Hair' tours - along with his other touring gigs - have required upwards of those numbers of shows), even under relative duress to his vocal cords, and suffering colds as well.

For Adam to cancel at all is a pretty big deal.... as been said here - not his style at all. He is also known (almost re-known, really) for his honesty. Anyway.... all signs point to this illness being very real, and specifically disruptive to singing the infamously vocally demanding Queen catalog of songs.... As well as disruptive to optimal health for stage performance (as Adam needs plenty of oxygen to be all over the stage, up and down stairs, etc). I'm surprised he did as well as he did last night.

Severe bronchitis can lead to pneumonia if he were to keep this up without a decent break, and a few days of real rest.

Didn't mean to go on and on... And, perhaps you already knew all these tidbits and have considered them. :))

At any rate.... Just glad he's being smart and following orders.

Get well soon, Adam! :)

And PS....

I'm also glad that he is with a very supportive team; particularly Brian & Roger.... Who - though they aren't apt to cancel and probably hate doing it - demonstrate that they are supportive of Adam as a person and of his career... Not just as their singer.

Good support network! Adam is blessed to work with them. :))

Wonder If they need someone to sit in the room with Adam all day and night? If they need someone for his every beck and call, I will glad volunteer, I also make the best homemade vegetable soup!
Get well soon Dear sweet Adam!
Please take your time; your health is more important than anything!

Maybe he needs someone to rub his chest with Vicks? I volunteer!!

Anon 3:42.... You bring your special veggie soup.... Rosie Posie you can rub his chest down with the Vicks....

I'll help him into his jammies and tuck him in bed... Ahem.

Sigh... Such menial, but critical tasks. A Glambert has gotta do what a Glambert has gotta do.

So glad we're getting this all figured out. ;)

... Any other volunteers?

JAK said...

I already offered to sing ....

Soft kitty, warm kitty, Little ball of fur.
Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr...

I'm sure that and the Vicks will do the trick.
He will be well in no time.

yada said...

LOL....

Indeed, JAK... You did.

He absolutely MUST have that song.
.... And your singing, of course.

Pure medicine. ;))

hehehe

If he doesn't rest his voice, it could be damaged for who knows how long so obviously, his ill-health is serious. Hope some Glamberts aren't expecting too much of him. Adam is not a robot, he's very much a human being and human beings become sick from time to time!

@3:42, yada, & JAK- What a fine medical team we'd make! We would ALL be feeling better. Hee hee

Bronchitis is nothing to joke about, I honestly think Adam should be taking more time off from this tour, no matter how much of a seasoned professional Adam is if he performs before he is truly well again, his condition could end up with serious complications, laryngitis, a hacking cough and sometimes the cough can last for weeks or even months, not to mention pneumonia. Adam's condition is serious most cases take at least 3 to 4 weeks to fully recover, so expecting him to continue before this is only selfish and certainly not in Adam's best interests. I wish him well but place no expectations on him, and I totally agree with anon 6:12 PM, Adam is not a robot he is seriously ill, nothing is more important than his health.

We're not dumb, we know that Adam needs all the time and treatment necessary to get well. You make it sound like we would be willing to threaten his recovery.
And Adam is not dumb, that voice is his money maker.

We don't know how ill he is, but, like Adam we carry on.
He's tweeting and liking IGs as he rests. We're chatting and joking amongst ourselves. But we are also concerned and sending prayers heavenward for his complete recovery, in what way are we selfish? Let's leave it to Adam and his doctor.
