HEILBRONNER STIMME: Long Live The Queen
by Jürgen Senghaas

Queen and Adam Lambert inspire Friday night with their Greatest Hits at Schleyer Hall in Stuttgart.

Even after this concert, you have to bring the worn-out phrase: Freddy Mercury can not be replaced. That's it then but even with the bad news. The remaining members of Queen, Brian May (67) and Roger Taylor (65) do not even try to scratch at the monument Mercury. Freddy is and remains probably the best rock voice of all time. If the musicians therefore depend guitar and drums on the nail? What can a musician best? A sold-out 12 000 visitors Schleyer Halle is the right answer.

Lucky Strike

"One Vision", "Stone Cold Crazy", "Fat Bottomed Girls" are the cracking opener. Since 2012 Adam Lambert's vocals here. A real find. The 33-year-old American took part in the talent show "American Idol" and there was already on its extraordinary voice. In studded black leather suit and with golden micro it is celebrated from the start.

He charmiert what it's worth, a twinkle in his eye, works ecstatic with the pelvis, and "Killer Queen", he lolls lasciviously on a sofa. "I Want To Break Free", "Somebody To Love": Lambert interprets the songs novel, and skin to the final chord, occasionally a third on top. "Thank you give me a chance," said Lambert thanked sympathetic: "It is an honor for me to play with these gentlemen."

"Hallole" Brian May asks in flawless German audiences, "Will you sing with me For Freddy?" This May sitting on a bar stool on a small offshore platform in the middle of the audience. "Love Of My Live", and the whole hall singing with. A real goosebumps moment it is as Freddy Mercury is played on the giant Q-shaped canvas, then virtually "live" singing along. In the acoustic set they play "39", and Roger Taylor proves with "Days Of Our Lives" and "It" s A Kind Of Magic "that especially in the high altitudes, he is vocally still in a good mood. His place on drums grants he is for his son Rufus Tiger Taylor (23), which makes the sticks fly with beautiful drive. class percussion duel father against son.

The place of John Deacon on bass fills Neil Fairclough and brings a lot of solo at the plucked and electric bass memories of "Body Language" out. Spike Edney is keyboardist for over 30 years with Queen on tour.

Great Hits

Especially in the quieter moments Adam Lambert can shine. After a ten-minute guitar solo of the master, which he brings everything the fretboard hergibt, follow the really big hits: "Tie Your Mother Down", "Another One Bites The Dust", "I Want It All", "Radio Gaga" "Crazy Little Thing Calles Love" and of course "Bohemian Rhapsody". As a thunderous encores there after over two hours plumper show "We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions". The lights go on and get "God Save The Queen" by the band. We wish also.

Awwww....that was a review it was a pleasure to read. I was glad to see Neil and Spike and Rufus mentioned.
They are excellent musicians and along with the two masters, Brian and Roger, give that band it's BIG sound.
Adam is the icing on the cake. Sweeeeet!....

Hi, I am pretty good at German and I could finalize the translations into English for you, if you think it would be helpful.

Catherine, I for one would really appreciate that.
I have seen the videos from Denmark. Adam was superb. Better than ever, some of the glory notes were out of this world. I thought his voice sounded a bit huskier than usual, could have just been the sound of course.
How hard will it be for Adam to come down from this tour, mind he has the excitement of his single and album awaiting him.
Just when I think I can not love him anymore, or he can not sound any better, he takes it to another level. I am (nearly) speechless.

Thanks @6:36pm, really appreciate it -- but Glitzylady was already on the case -- just took some time to get the post together -- and, as you can now see, they are posted.

But thanks to you and everyone who provide links like this -- it is always helpful!!
