Known as much for touring with rock titans Queen as being American Idol’s most interesting contestant, Adam Lambert’s third album, The Original High, strives to make his music just as memorable.
Obviously Lambert has oodles of confidence in his powerful voice (you certainly need big cojones to step into the shoes of the late great Freddie Mercury), but his histrionic warbling has often felt like it was overcompensating for something lacking in the song. The music has never proven to be quite as fabulous as the hair and eyeliner, but are the Glamberts ready to embrace a more cohesive and contemporary sound?

OT But just wanted to say, as a New Zealander I have always adored your American National Anthem .
I do agree with Annemarie though it is beautiful when sung straight forward as most can relate to, I actually think Adam in his (pulling back era)would realize this if invited to perform. Which would be wonderful.

Personally I never cared for The SS Banner. The lyrics are about war and the tune is from an English Drinking song.
I much prefer America the Beautiful.

I promptly deleted it on another thread earlier. I can't delete on this thread. Both Admin Fan & the blog owner were contacted.. Waiting for deletion by one of them.
Lambert Outlaw, how is it an insult to Adam? It's a video of a performance he did.
I don't see why that link needs to be deleted. Are some embarrassed by that performance or think it would cause people to dislike Adam? Are only things that portray Adam in what some think is the best light allowed? I guess the AMA performance wouldn't be allowed here either then.

Personally sometimes the administrators delete my comments but I don't mine!:) I will continue to be rude to people who disrespect my idol!!:) People who always complaints are not a happy campers.

Now that plenty of attention has been brought to the SSB link, I watched it. It seems out of context but not anything so bad it needs deleting. I don't get what the big deal is. Maybe I'm missing something but I doubt Adam would say delete it. He has always owned his performances.
Glitzylady and Lambert Outlaw must think Adam did something bad if they want it deleted.

I didn't open the link to the "questionable" SSB that Adam sang years ago, but if it's the one I think it is, I've seen it before. It was some kind of satire, comic performance. It was done in context when it was performed. It was part of some sort of skit or something. Kinda dumb, but there it was. Adam said once that he has sung the anthem many time at school events, etc. He can obviously sing it beautifully and has done so many times. I wouldn't let one silly performance done for a different purpose overshadow the many times he has done the SSB very proud. If he got to sing it at the Super Bowl, he would do a fantastic job.

Would be interested to hear how Adam would sing the anthem now in his current 'less is more' mode.
Love his singing in each version, love this man's ability to REALLY sing and always do some little quirks of his own with his one in a billion voice & talent.
I will always cherish the moment when I heard (saw the vid for the first time) Adam singing Happy Birthday to Terrance. The nuances in his voice.... .... ...... <3<3<3
