I think by now we have to accept, Adam's global family; like he says: 'multiple families, multiple turkeys...' And this gay issue should not deter that in any way...a bit old-fashion already, I think!
Same sex marriage will be legalised in Singapore in the foreseeable future; like I already pointed out, this law was actually ratified during British Colonial Singapore; helluva old to say the least; moreover, we need Singapore babies...all hands on deck. lwl! I think Adam was invited to break the ice in a way, on our 2015-16 NYE Countdown.

What I'm trying to say is, don't just focus on the petitions; there's more beneath the facade. Nothing happens by chance in Singapore...start from that premise. Mediacorp works hand-in-glove with government authorities though they do have a free hand in their programming. So inviting Adam to our NYE Countdown which they know will be widely watched both locally and abroad, would capture large audiences and their reactions. And who is better than Adam to wave the Rainbow flag wailing at the top of his voice.
As for me...it's just Adam I want to watch; covert intentions, none whatsoever.

When the lighting on some of these gifs and vids show Adam's eyes as brown, I always see a resemblance to Neil.

Too much turkey

Adam looks like he's already "turkey-ed out" from the first dinner. Lots of families have two dinners, one with the in-laws, one with the out-laws. When I was a kid, that's what we did.

Lam-may, thanks for the insights into the Singapore situation with Adam. It's always good when we get a perspective from someone who actually lives there. I predict his show will be spectacular. And the added publicity (which seems to be going his way) is an added bonus. And I love his blue and black shirt. :)

Adam most likely had one dinner with his mother, and second dinner with his dad.

Hey DRG...No problem, about my name.
That's how Singapore works, when something loud erupts...it usually means something is cooking ! and the end result most of the time is favourable. Our gay people have been clamouring for same sex marriage as long as 20+ years, but the number at that time was relatively small and Singapore's nation building was topmost on the Government's mind; so they didn't want to rock the boat. Oh bear in mind too, the gay people were always treated equally just like anyone of us, other than signing a same sex marriage license. So now, perhaps our Government thinks it's about time; like I said Babies are Singapore's top priority! lwl! But that's still secondary...it has evolved into an important human rights issue. As for me...genuine Love between two people must be given a blessing because Love is special and Love is Nature and Nature is God.

It always strikes me as strange.... that it's usually the most devote in the many religions that are the most strident homophobes. Yet they believe that their God created mankind.

Do they believe that their God made mistakes when he created some people different from them?

Genuine love is what the world needs now
So give a shout-out, a blessing
To those so fortunately endowed
Ask Adam, he'll tell you
He wants to be in love
Love is special to both
The giver and the receiver
So let people love! get married!
If that's what they want
Facilitate rather than hinder
If your own children were gay
Would you petition and stop their love...
