American Idol Season XV will be premiering in January 2016. This 22 minute promo video  (embedded below) includes interviews with Ryan Seacrest, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, and series creator Simon Fuller.. as well as current judges & others associated with the show from the beginning to upcoming season. And includes snippets of auditions, performances from previous contestants including the phenomenal vocalist Adam Lambert and his stellar performance of "Mad World".

We remember that Adam was the only contestant that original judge Simon Cowell gave a standing ovation to after Adam's performance of "Mad World" on Season 8 in 2009.

In the Idol promo video (below) Paula and Randy recalled Adam's performance of "Mad World": (in the video starting at 10:52). Note that there are other glimpses of Adam throughout the video.

Paula:"Adam sang Mad World, that was a game changer for him in the competition."

Randy: "One of the best songs ever on idol."

From the intro to the video:

The original music show phenomenon, AMERICAN IDOL returns for its farewell – and 15th – season in January 2016. Featuring host Ryan Seacrest and judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., the farewell celebration will pay tribute to the past 14 seasons, the amazingly talented contestants and the millions of fans who called, tweeted, texted and championed their IDOLS.

Eventually the competition is whittled down to two finalists who compete for a major recording contract and the AMERICAN IDOL title. Past winners Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, Scotty McCreery, Phillip Phillips, Candice Glover, and Caleb Johnson as well as fan-favorites Jennifer Hudson, Adam Lambert, Chris Daughtry, and Katharine McPhee, have all become household names and made their marks on the recording industry.

Will Adam even be in the country during most of AI???

It will be great to see Adam, but quite honestly, I'll be glad when AI is entirely over.

He should be in this country at the finale with no problem. Really nice to see that Sauli is in CA right now, and has already posted being up in Runyon Canyon. Looks like Adam went with him.

We can always count on Anne Marie for the Sauli and Adam updates.

It seems that Adam attended the Deaf West Theater production of Spring Awakening on Broadway, starring Marlee Matlin and other deaf artists. Not unexpected that Adam still loves theater and supports that community. Love that he is taking so many side trips to enjoy NYC culture while touring, NYC is especially festive and beautiful during the holidays and probably making his "life on the road" more fun.You can tell that he loves his life right now!

BTW - if anyone watches the Voice, the winner Jordan Smith did a rendition of "Somebody to Love" on the semi-finals that IMO gave homage to Adam. He had to have studied Adam's performance on YouTube.
