Adam looks so serious, wonder what they were talking about. May be he is getting to know Sam a bit more. Sam isn't looking very happy either. I think Adam is a good listener and might turn out to be a good friend for Sam. JMO

The pic looked very odd to me, kind of like those paparazzi ploys where an arrangement is made for a 3rd party to inject herself between 2 celebs and the photographer is at the ready to flash - then they both run off, a photo hit and run. Adam and Sam's expressions speak volumes.
After Sam's speech from the OSCAR award, he knew that he needed to run into Adam's arm for great advice he!he!. Now we are talking SAM!!!
I assume they were both paid to be there, as often happens. Adam and Sam have met before and seem to get along and like each other well enough. I don't think they're good buddies or anything. These club pix are probably kind of posed,, IMO, in order to get a provocative vibe. Sam seems to have a little receding hairline issue.
