Wonderful, in-depth review of the Queen + Adam Lambert concert in Barcelona, Spain at Palau Sant Jordi, by a life-long, self-described "HUGE" Queen fan..

INTRO to the review:

"First, I just want to clarify that I am a HUGE Queen fan. HUGE with capital letters. Ever since my older brother gave me my first album ever, Queen’s "Greatest Hits" back in 1981 and I listened for the first time 'Bohemian Rhapsody', I just couldn’t believe my ears! Can you do this in music? Is it OK to play Rock and Opera at the same time? How many people are singing here? I played the song at least 20 times in a row. Actually, it took me a few days to discover the rest of marvelous tunes that completed Queen’s first compilation album. I was just 6 years old and I tell you, I never looked back ever since."

More EXCERPTS from the much longer review: Please go to the embedded link above to read the entire review.. Excellent and with much more to say about Queen and Adam Lambert..

"When Freddie Mercury died in 1991 I literally stopped talking for several days. That is how much I loved and admired that man, and I realized that Queen as we knew it was over forever. That is why I was really, really skeptical and maybe a little bit harsh to see Queen performing with other singers."

" ‘Killer Queen’ opened a whole new level of flamboyance in Adam Lambert’s performance and, by the next song ‘I Want to Break Free’, he had the audience eating out from the palm of his hand and sealed the deal with his version of ‘Somebody to Love’..."

"In conclusion, I feel that even though Freddie Mercury is no longer with us, and with the respectable decision of John Deacon to pursue a new life away from the cameras and the public spotlight, Brian May and Roger Taylor deserve to keep playing their songs and we deserve to hear them live. These songs belong to them, and also they belong to you and me. And now I understand they mourned enough for way too long. And both of them are true gentlemen and will always keep Freddie Mercury’s legacy alive. "
"As for Adam Lambert, he is truly a gifted singer with such a bright future. He might be a Pop Star filling the shoes of one of the biggest Rock Stars ever existed, but he does it outstandingly and very humbly. He might not be the Queen, but he sure as hell deserve a first-class place in the court."

Excellant!
While reading this I could hear and see the concert live in my mind.
This new Queen band has a bond in performing and in respect for one anther that is rarely achieved in collaborations.
