Seems like Adam is having quite an interesting down time. Something going on almost every day. I think he is enjoying himself, even though busy, but all fun stuff. Looks like Brian might have talked him into singing a special song for Israel, I had only ever heard him sing "The prayer" but the Shir L'shalom is beautiful too, Adams voice is spectacular. The song for peace.

Hi Anne Marie, I saw the article from Israel and will post it later. It's really just an article based on the earlier interview with Dr. Brian May and Adam Lambert when the Tel Aviv QAL was announced. We don't know yet if Adam will actually be singing a song in Hebrew but it's certainly possible :)))

I hope he does, Brian loves playing a song for different countries. As I recall in that interview, Adam wasn't too keen on the idea, since he said he doesn't speak Hebrew. I was hoping that Brian would talk him into it.

Or he could sing it in English, too. He said before that the Hebrew was written out for him phonetically and laying on the floor for him to read.

It IS a gorgeous song...especially with Adam's voice. What a thrill for Israel if QAL actually performs it!

Queen seems to have a habit of performing "special" songs for countries, so I won't be surprised if they do it.

As for ABC's Greatest Hits" Finale, the printouts indicate it will be "greatest summer hits", and...."guests (Adam, etc) will perform THEIR biggest hits".

So-o-o, will Adam be able to sing something from "The Original High" Album... which is NOT technically from this summer?

He could sing "Welcome To The Show"...which has become a hit. But will/can he bring Laleh to duet with him?

He also has "Can't Go Home".. but is that technically HIS hit, or does it need Steve Aoki and Felix Jaehn, too . How would that be handled?

Wouldn't it be great if he could sing "Who wants to Live Forever"--- THAT would blow the roof off!!! Except that's technically Queen's song--- but certainly Adam's "hit".

The show that Adam will be on is billed as ""Two hour live Finale to ABC’s biggest summer hit, “Greatest Hits”.".. It covers iconic hit songs from the years 1980 to 2005. It's all about "Classic" Pop & Rock hits from those years.. I expect that Adam will be covering a hit song cover or tribute song.. And not one of his own.. I've watched the first show in the series (a summer special series that began a few weeks ago..) via Comcast On Demand as I haven't watched up until just this week and am trying to catch up! The shows up until the finale are 1 hour in length.. In some cases the original artists and bands are performing their music, in other cases current artists are doing covers.. The show is actually very well produced and entertaining.. And its fun to see both the original artists and the current ones..

This is the description from ABC of the summer TV series:

""Greatest Hits" is a new music series, featuring Hit-Makers of the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Each episode will highlight a five-year period celebrating the biggest hits from that time, hosted by Arsenio Hall and Kelsea Ballerini. Each week, iconic music artists, as well as today's music chart-toppers, will take the stage and perform the songs that defined the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. The series also features special solo performances, never-before-seen duets and incredible tributes. "Greatest Hits" premiered on THURSDAY, JUNE 30 at 9|8c on the ABC Television Network. The show is produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures. Ken Ehrlich, James McKinlay and Raj Kapoor serve as executive producers and Leon Knoles directs. David Wild is writer/producer."

Hope this clarifies what the show is about.. and what Adam's probable role will be..

I'm personally hoping he does a Queen song.. or perhaps he'll be doing a Bowie tribute!! We'll know in a few weeks!

glitzylady, all of your comment is what I read and understood earlier, too, UNTIL I saw the printout re: date, time, cost, etc..... just above these comments.... which clearly states that "guests (listed names)...perform THEIR biggest hits".

But I did misunderstand "summer hit".. turns out the article was referring to the ABC series as a "summer hit".

Anyway, it should be very interesting. Can't wait to see what Adam performs. I'm sure he'll be fabulous. I would like a Queen song, too -"Who wants to Live Forever" is my favorite. But "Somebody to Love" is great ... and "Killer Queen" would really be a hoot! But a Bowie tribute would be very nice-- he should have been able to do that earlier instead of Madonna!

Even Purple Rain by Prince or an MJ song would be good. There are so many for ADAM to choose from ... any one that he does choose will be fabulous with that Golden Voice of his. My preference would be a ballad but of course that would be ADAM's choice so we'll just have to wait & see. ANYTHING is going to be GREAT with ADAM singing it!! I hope he sings solo also!! OOOO!! Can't wait!!

I hope he has a choice--probably he'll be "assigned" a song/s. The organizers must already have planned which songs they consider the "Greatest Hits". Also hope he'll have input as to "how" it's presented -- as he seemed to have on American Idol. He's at his best when he can do it "his way".... and has great "instincts" about presentation. Exciting time!!!

glitzylady said...

I would assume he'll be assigned a song, but hard to say.. could be given several choices of a specific artist.. But I also have no doubt he'll have a say in how he does it.. To my knowledge all of the songs featured on the show are #1 hits... and are considered to be "decade defining".. Nothing obscure for sure..

When I watched the first show of the season, (the only one I've seen so far, but will watch the rest eventually), Jason Derulo did an OUTSTANDING job of his Michael Jackson tribute song "Human Nature".. and certainly gave it his own spin..

I watched 2 of the shows on Verizon demand last night. It's the original artist and then contemporary artists singing along or a portion. I imagine he will be singing along side someone who had a big hit and either doing a duet or a portion of the song. They are not singing their own songs. The shows were pretty good. WATCH

Anne Marie, if you want to see a young Adam (2005) singing Shir L'Ashalom it is on Youtube.

I don't know how to transfer a link but you can enter in Google... "Youtube - Adam Lambert, Maya Haddi, Noa Dori sing SHIR LASHALOM (Song for Peace)".

A beautiful song... a beautiful voice! The Israelis would be overwhelmed if QAL performed it.
I BET they will!
