Fantastic! Adam really "chewed up the scenery"! Just finished watching the TV program, and was wishing that I could see his performance again..and again...and again... and here it is!
Hurray!

I see that Adam's time on screen has been enlarged quite a bit from the original Meatloaf version. And why not?... Adam stole the show, and it would have been a crime to shut him off too soon... he was a hoot....I loved it!

Ok, I'm the first to comment? Just finished watching the show. I thought Adam totally nailed it and performed the strongest segment in the show. Best voice, strongest character performance. But, to be honest,I must say I wasn't all that impressed with the whole thing. I saw the original many years ago and haven't watched it again recently. I realize RHPS is a campy, surreal ride. But I thought this new one was kind of slow-moving and kind of awkward. Nobody else's voices were all that great, IMO. I was expecting it to be much more intense and faster paced. (Adam sure was!) It's easy to see why the reviewers are giving him such high marks despite their lesser opinion of the whole show. I'm sure many of you here disagree with me, but that's ok.

Haha, Nanbert! You finished your post as I was typing mine, so I guess I'm not the first. I agree that I wish Adam could have been on screen longer. I loved those giant photos of him in the background, and of course, Eddie lying in the coffin. What happened to that finale thing where Adam sang again? Did I miss it somehow?

@Dee R Gee ... the reprise with ADAM & Ivy wasn't that noteworthy ... IMO ... just two sets of lips singing ... I thought they would be holograms ... would have been better ... IMO!! I cheered when Dr. Frank-n-Furter met her demise at the end!! Shame on me ... not!! ... LOL ... but I have no interest in the original version without ADAM ... I've seen all I care to see of this 'culture classic' ... too campy for me!! I LOVED ADAM/EDDIE!! What a Hunk!! Better than Rocky ... IMO!!

I totally didn't het the lips thing at the end until about half way through and then I realized the left side lips were Adam's. I thought there would be a kind of stage finale with him singing, but I guess not. Except for Adam, I thought the cast was rather meh, both vocally and acting-wise. I love campy stuff and I certainly no prude, but I just thought the whole thing was kind of slow.

This will probably pop here officially, but thought I'd share a review I'm reading right now. I think that would be awesome, wonder if Adam is ready for something like this yet?

"Ashford and the always wonderfully-voiced Adam Lambert made for one rough, but mesmerizing, couple; even though Lambert's Eddie wasn't long for this, or any, world. I am hopeful that some enterprising producer saw the broadcast and is currently loading up an armored truck with cash in order to entice the pair to do a musical together on Broadway."

The original RHS is basically a low budget grade B film, it became a cult classic through midnight showings and a young audience creating the "interactive" theater aspect. The themes and gimmicks were edgy and ahead of its time then, but VERY outdated now. There is no shock value. I watched until the Eddie/Adam part and then switched off as I lost interest. It did drag and the storyline really cannot hold an audience that has long been exposed to cable/internet/reality shows. It was a wonderful vehicle for Adam with well deserved buzz..........not so much for the rest of the production or cast - JMO.

OT: Adam was so ahead of his time. CoverGirl will now have a 17 y/o male model to
market their new mascara. He is not as pretty as Adam, but does sport great eyeliner and mascara.

Artemis, I agree Adam was So HOT!!! I was also pleased to see more of him as the show went on, in the window, big background pic and the casket.

Adam oh yes, the rest of the show? I don't think Laverne Cox was the right choice. Sorry, but I found her performance boring and lacking something, and not a good singer either. Tim Curry was amazing in the original .He brought a sense of humor with his outrageous behavior to the original movie. His performance was what made the original so good because he believed his part. He was a man playing a transvestite, not being one. The rest of the show was okay, but no stand out performances. Adam was wonderful and brought more to his smaller part then anyone else in the show.

Adam was high energy, he stooled the show. Only watched Adams part, and switched channels. Not my type of show.

lollymop, thanks for the link to the review. It expresses a lot of my own opinion. I do LOVE the great review of Adam, and YES, I pray that some producers see his incredible performance and give him another acting opportunity. He's an untapped gem.

Actually, I've often thought that someone should write a musical around/for/about Adam. His story is a riveting "rags to riches"... "a star is born"...for movie type of plot -- but absolutely fact, not fiction!

A movie about Adam would allow him to sing all his most-loved music, and Queen's, as well as some of his best covers. What's not to like about that?

And of course Adam would STAR in it... a Glambert's dream!!
