Didn't realize this was a political commentary site. Freddie's own family fled Zanzibar, so check your facts before you comment. Are you a green card holder, or legal resident who was not let back into a country where you are a legal resident. Are you even American. I think not.

I'm steering clear of politics here. I just posted on the previous thread about the show and to save my post-op right arm, I'll just paste my comment here.

Loved the show! Adam was his usual sweet, charming, witty, sexy self. So quick with a joke or comic aside. And pretty risquΓ© in a few frisky moments. Thought the call-in questions from home were good. Wish he could have mentioned his own new music, though. I wish I had started watching This Is Us. It's a HUGE TV hit. I hope Adam gets a chance to do a TV show at some point. He'd be great.

Pretty sure Freddie would have objected, but let's cut out the policics.

Regarding some of the comments on this thread: I agree... keeping politics away from this site (other than those spoken by Adam, and in this particular case regarding Queen's music, the remaining original members of Queen), would be preferable. Speculation about how Freddie would have felt is just that: speculation. Although I suspect that we could easily guess what his thoughts may have been, bless his beautiful soul.

I personally came here to Adam Lambert 24/7 News way back in the beginning of Adam's worldwide career to learn all about "our" beloved beautiful & talented guy Adam Lambert. Not to discuss politics.. As an American citizen, I am constantly bombarded by often disturbing (to me) news related to the current political climate in the US.. I prefer to keep it about Adam. Please...

And as an administrator of this site, I would ask each of the people who comment here to be sensitive to others..

The photos here on this thread are beautiful, joyful, and light-hearted. To go in any other direction makes me sad..

And while I hate to prolong this convo, I must respond to part of @Lam-my's comment above...

Lam-my on February 16, 2017 at 11:47 PM "Since the topic of Mr Trump using We Are The Champions is brought up in the video, I'll just chip in a bit. Queen definitely has their right to disapprove it being used, citing the reason their music is never used for politics; fair enough.
What I'm thinking is, do you think Freddie Mercury would have minded, hypothetically? He composed it with input from Brian and Roger.
My guess is he may not; an artist of his calibre can ride above it. No intention to demean Brian nor Roger at all, I often call them maestros and they are bearing in mind they are the owners/custodians of Queen music."

While I completely agree with you @Lam-my about their right to disapprove (and in fact request that their music NOT be used in a political campaign, since the campaign in question did not request permission to use it in the first place), I must mention that Dr. Bri & Roger are ALSO "artists of this calibre". Freddie was brilliant, an artist extraordinaire, but so were and are the other original members of Queen.. Sometimes "riding above it" is not the way to go.

And @Lam-my at Feb. 17th at 1:02 AM

Your comment: "Adam's shirt is very nice, the floral parts are made of luminous material which gleams when light falls on it. His hair down gives a softer, casual look."

YES!! I LOVE Adam's look here!

I think Lam-My should be banned from this site for being so hateful. This is a fan site to support Adam. IMO she does not fit that description. Not really worth fighting with her "alternative facts" Thanks all

Yes, Allysa Mentor, she should be banned. She is a very vindictive and insulting person as you and Glitzylady experienced (above)... certainly not in keeping with the ideals and goals of this blogsite.

It's a shame you were subjected to her hurtful and offensive temper tantrum!

Since I'm not an administrator it's not my decision, but couldn't certain topics be banned (like political ones) rather than certain people? I don't usually find Lam-my vindictive or insulting, and sometimes other people can be insulting too.

And a gentle reminder of the "Comment Moderation" rule posted on the site by @Admin (the blog owner). It can be found in the upper right hand side on the full "Web Version" of Adam Lambert 24/7 News:

"We reserve the right to delete your comment if we find it disrespectful, mean, or inappropriate."

We quite honestly rarely delete comments here on the blog, especially since the "sign in only" (no anonymous comments) was put into play, also by the blog owner, which has effectively eliminated anonymous "troll" comments. But it bears repeating that under certain circumstances deleting comments could still happen.

We would prefer to have open, honest commentary here, hopefully in support of and pertaining in some way to, the reason for this long-term blog, Adam Lambert. But again, with respect for others.. And for Adam..

We do not always have to agree with each other but outright disrespect is NOT okay..

Also, please note: Commenters have never been "banned" from this site. And I don't see that happening, at least in the blog's present format.. (And to be clear, I have no say in this as an admin "helper" but have been informed previously by the blog owner that will not happen). In earlier days of the blog, entire threads were deleted or "closed" to further comment, by the blog owner. This happened only a few times. We don't want that to happen again..

So again: discussion is encouraged here, differing viewpoints respected. But disrespect, meanness or extremely "inappropriate" comments, words, phrases, etc.. may be subject to deletion by the blog administration.

Thanks for being a part of the Adam Lambert fandom!!! He's the reason we're here and we want to respect & promote him on this blog.. Because he's THE BEST!!!

And on a personal note: One of the fun and truly awesome outcomes of being a fan of the incredibly talented (and fabulous all around human being) Adam Lambert are the friendships I (and so many others around the world) have made as a result of blogs such as this one and meeting each other at concerts, events, parties, etc.. associated with Adam.

As a direct result of participating in a blog (Adam Lambert Official-Unofficial) early on in Adam's post Idol career, I got to know a group of fans who have become close & dear friends. We've traveled together to concerts and events, gathered for just the fun of it, we have truly become "best friends".. We have an email group that is in constant touch and while we discuss Adam, we are also supportive of each other in our joys, sorrows, worries, etc.. etc.. We have our own private "chat room" as it were. And while we generally agree with each other about various topics of discussion (anything and everything), we are always respectful of each other. We may disagree on certain points but we never ever insult each other.. Never. We come from a variety of backgrounds, religions, points of view.. Different states (US west coast) and countries (US & Canada).. Here on Adam Lambert 24/7 News, we come from all over the world.. Hoping we can respect each other in a similar way.. We can agree to disagree but hopefully without harsh words.

Peace

Well spoken, Glitzylady....disrespectful, demeaning and insulting comments are just plain bad manners.... and completely out of place here. We all are here, happily, because of one thing in common...Adam. We are all adults, or close to it, and should be able to discuss, and agree or disagree, without venom or rancor.

It might be wise, also, to avoid political comments, IMO.

Nanbert said...

Lam-My... ashamed of your hate filled comments?

Running away (deleting them) won't make them go away... they hang in the air like a putrid dead thing. The only way to truly "erase " them is to APOLOGIZE to those you've vilified.

BTW, it's easy to make copies of comments from this website-- BEFORE they are deleted..
