I really don't like Queen's introduction of that Freddie "Day-O" section at the end of their
concert. I feel that it upstages Adam...especially during the encore.

Besides, Adam is very good and a lot of fun at that "calling out" with the audience, too...why not use more of him for that?

O-o-o-r, show a video of Adam doing "callouts" with some of the massive crowds HE's worked with...like Rio, etc.

I know most people won’t like this but don’t u think it’s time to move on from Freddie.

Gayle...I would be fine with that....but Queen is very sensitive to Freddie's fans, who are very jealous of Freddie's legacy. Including Freddie here and there in the concert... and Adam proclaiming himself as a fan, too....helps keep the Freddie die-hards somewhat placated...and more accepting of Adam, who they are brought to feel has been helping keep Freddie/Queen's music alive.

We'd probably feel the same way if the situation was reversed.....i.e. Freddie was replacing Adam. I can understand Queen's dilemma. After all Freddie was a dear friend, superb front man, excellent writer/composer, and a huge part of their earlier success. Most of HIS stoutest fans feel that Queen should have died with Freddie.

But Brian and Roger have a right to play THEIR music if they wish...and tour, which they love. And miraculously a guy turned up who could fill Freddie's shoes beautifully...ADAM! The rest is history...as they say! But it doesn't come without "baggage".

I think Freddie must be reminded when you do a tribute show but not every concert. Adam should not even say during the show that he is not Freddie. An awkward moment is created. Some people start shouting "we love you" others Freddie's name. And other bands have died their band members and do not remember them at every show because the one who is replacing them would feel bad. I'm really tired of the constant comparison between Adam and Freddie. I think Queen is wrong in maintaining this comparison and making Adam feel Freddie's inferiority. When they played with Paul Rodgers, they did not do that. Queen had to say from the beginning that Adam is their new vocalist, that's their choice, and so.

I hope to add to the Set list "Spread your wings" and "It's late" as it was at the start of the North American tour.

I get it - well written

If Queen did not do so with Paul Rodgers, could it possibly be Adam's choice?

Paul Rodgers was so totally different from Freddie that it wasn't even necessary to make an "I know I'm not Freddie" speech. Queen and Paul were on a different place then. They didn't try to re-create the camp, glam persona of Queen. But with Adam, the comparison is inevitable. Adam is not copying Freddie, but he does preset the glam rock style and presence and sexuality that QPR did not even try to portray. When someone is as outstanding as Adam, as equally talented as Freddie, with a voice so superior and above the mainstream, I think that some homage to Freddie is in order.

Brian and Roger never called Paul Rogers a "gift from God."

Good points, Mirela and Dee R Gee. I believe that a good part of using Freddie in their concerts was to protect Adam, and help him be more easily accepted by the fans.

Remember, the first 6 concerts...in 2012, starting in Kiev and ending at the Hammersmith in London had no mention of Freddie. It wasn't until their first full-fledged N.A. tour that Freddie was brought into the format.... when it finally became clear to all of them that this was going to be a serious, possibly long-term collaberation....and it was necessary to make a "soft landing" for die-hard Freddie fans.

Adam has often said that he worried about the fans accepting him...."This was sacred ground". Many didn't, and their "comments" were very strident and nasty, as we've all seen. But little by little QAL is chipping away at the "Freddie Only" fans, and being more accepted as the tremendous show that it is. The audiences are huge and ON BOARD!

But, I would be glad to finally see an "Adam only" show. This nostalgia for Freddie is a bit overdone and uneccessary now, and not uplifting enough for Adam. It' almost like reminding the public that "we REALLY MISS him (Freddie)" while Adam is being their front man.....and invites comparison when one is no longer needed.

RIP Freddie ...it's time. Adam LIVES...

It's been a long time since Q + AL is playing together and I do not think there's any need to calm down the fans in any way. Whoever wanted to accept Adam as a new front man did others will never do it no matter what they say. Why do not I remember John Deacon in concerts when he sang the songs he wrote (ex Another One Bites the Dust).
Many bands have changed their membership over time and do not make a list of former members at each concert. Who accepts a band with current members goes to the concert who does not stay home.
We can move the mountains more easily from their place than change people's opinions

Well put, Mirela.....especially those last two sentences!

One more thought....Queeen would NOT be touring "on top of the world" as it is now without Adam. It is because of him that Queen rose out of the ashes like a Phoenix...to become great again. If Adam hadn't turned up, Queen would be permanently in mothballs now.

This is now 21st Century Queen AND ADAM LAMBERT... let THAT be so. Perhaps keeping that nice section where Brian sings alone at the end of the walkway...and a video of Freddie chimes in with him in for a short time... be the ONLY time Freddie turns up in the Queen and ADAM LAMBERT concert!

There's a big difference between paying homage to someone...and conferring "sainthood"on him!

Roger & Brian decide the content of Queen's concert/s, not Adam's fans. Enjoy their concert tours while they continue instead of finding fault with them.
