In one of Adam's Australian interviews, he said he bought an ASTON MARTIN a couple of days before his promo tour.
I read that Adam is giving a number of interviews in Australia. Hopefully, they'll be uploaded on YouTube. He also performed at a club. He's a very busy lad Down Under.
I can't imagine why Adam would want to play Elvis in a biopic. Elvis's VOICE would be expected! Adam would have to LIP-SYNC Elvis's voice! That would be a travesty for both of them.
I suspect that Adam was just joking or teasing about the part. It wouldn't work for either his or Elvis's fans. With HIS voice, Adam should never lip-sync (or even imitate) another's. And Elvis fans would be furious to hear another voice (even Adam's) instead of Elvis's in a biopic.
Just imagine a biopic of Adam with a different singer singing the music! I feel certain a biopic about him will happen some day...his story is very interesting....and his talent is already iconic. BUT....They would HAVE to use HIS voice!
Adam and Boy Geoege have been friends since right after idol. BG saw Adam on Idol though he was gorgeous. It is a possibility Adam was ask to audition for the Elvis part or he just wants to. Priscilla P. Has been a fan of Adam even going to one or maybe more of his solo concerts. It just my opinion I think he would make a great Elvis. He very sexy and can certainly play a straight part it's called acting. He could also adjust his voice where he would sound close to Elvis. Doing a movie in my opinion and creating a likeness to that character is very different than a mimic of a person on a concert. Which Adam would never do of FM. However this is a biopic a charaterzation and someone's got to play it because Elvis is not on this earth. Kirk Russell played him years ago looks nothing like him until makeup and sure didn't sound like him Adam oviously way better singer. Actually still did a pretty good job. Adam looks way more like him. I dont know if Adam serious or not but Right now out there in movie land Can not think of any person fits Elvis any better. True there are certainly pros and cons about it. Guess will see if he is serious about trying out for it. Like I said he may have been asked to. He certainly already has many irons in the fire.
You're welcome Rosemary! I heard the producer/director wants to cast a new actor; Tom Hanks is more or less cast as Elvis' real-life manager. Wah, working opposite Tom Hanks goodness gracious! that's as huge as Adam could ever imagine. The role will catapult Adam into the realm of the Oscars! He could even open the Oscars again singing 'I Cant's Help Falling In Love With You' which he wanted to sing instead of Blue Suede Shoes which he did really good! in the recent Elvis Tribute. Like he said in the above video, he has been alluded to as Elvis which I think started during Idol. And yes, I felt a reminiscence of Elvis when he sang 'A Whole Lot of Love'...I remember saying to myself, looks like Elvis and the way he jerks the mic stand, the high collar. I think voice may not be that difficult for Adam to adjust to. Well, if Grandma June is anything to go by, I had to write a story to send him off to deep outer space because I had an aversion to him being Grandma June, so real, haw haw! It will be a smash in the box-office if it takes off; plus Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley both like him, first met Adam on Idol during a group visit by the Top 10 to Graceland 2009 and they were already focused on him. So far I like Adam's version of Heartbreak Hotel with Spike Edney at the piano/keyboard.
Sue....do you really think Elvis fans want to see an Elvis movie with a non-Elvis voice...no matter how good?
Adam already explained why he didn't play Freddie in "Bohemian Rhapsody"..."I don't look like him...I don't SOUND like him". They used Freddie's recordings, and Rami lip-sinced Freddie singing.
There are a zillion of high quality recordings of Elvis's voice available for use in his biopic....for lip syncing. Why do a movie about Elvis... without HIS voice?

Nanbert, I saw the movie "Rocketman" a couple of days ago and it was brilliant. Taron Egerton, the actor who plays Elton, is superb and he sang the songs himself. Elton was adamant that he didn't want the actor playing his role to lip synch his voice, and it worked! And although no one can ever sing Elton's songs as well or better than he can, Taron can sing, and from what I can gather, no one is complaining about it. In fact, Taron has received a lot of praise for it. So you see, it could be possible for Adam to play Elvis if he's asked, and if he wants to do it. I think it could be a go-er, and as Adam has indicated he'd like to get into movies, I think he'd be great.

Rosemary White....I see your point, but that was ELTON JOHN'S CHOICE, and he's ALIVE to make that decision.... it's HIS movie! Truth is, I was quite disappointed to learn that Elton's voice in the movie is not his... and can't imagine his motive. I really like Elton John's voice/music, just as is. In any case, Elton's fans have no choice but to accept Elton's decision.
But Elvis's fans/family may feel differently....I would if the situation were reversed. Elvis's voice is unique and iconic...that's the ONLY reason WHY he's famous. What a shame not to preserve it in a biopic!
Another reason why I am concerned about Adam playing Elvis in a movie...with his own voice...is that there are still oodles of "Freddie-only and Marc Martel only acceptable replacement fans" who continually trash Adam. Just imagine what all the Elvis fans would say about Adam imitating Elvis in a movie!
Yes, Adam could play the PART brilliantly....but it would be demeaning and ridiculous for him to lip-sync Elvis...or anyone! And using his own voice would be wrong, too.
It would break my heart if someone made a movie about Adam, without using HIS voice. His voice is what makes him unique, famous, and a superstar!
Oh well, many of you are thinking about the "prestige" for Adam playing Elvis in a movie... at least if it's any good......but I can't help but worry about the multitude of pitfalls and drawbacks that could actually hurt Adam.
Most of Elvis' initial fans are in their 70s-80s now. I was that era; was not a head-over-heels fan but I listened to Elvis songs and watched the Blue Hawaii movie in the cinema. These old fans would love to relive their Elvis era and as for the new younger fans they would not have seen him live, Elvis died young. RIP.
For starters, Adam has a little Elvis resemblance at a glance and many have said that during and after Idol. I recall in one of the QAL videos I posted, Brian announced 'Elvis is in the building...' and in walked Adam to the quick rehearsal, wearing the purple jacket, just before the show. With some expert makeup, Elvis could be back and kicking! Voice to me is not a huge problem, Adam is very good at voice impersonation to be as close as possible; of course can't get back the exact tone/nuances but like I said, the older fans would at least get to relive their Elvis memories. Actually I much prefer Adam's version of Heartbreak Hotel brought up to present time, yet he's able to retain that Elvis flair, his own style! I actually enjoyed it more than the Elvis version because it's modern, at the same time recalling Elvis embedded in my psyche; surreal. So it's definitely workable and will smash the box-office.
The only Hurdle for Adam to play Elvis is simply if he could get the part! at least an Audition; he stands a very good chance and may even be on the threshold of joining the coveted Oscar elite. Good luck Adam! I will definitely watch the movie, perhaps not at the cinema, can't take the 2-hour stress but will buy the CD and watch it many times in the comfort of my home. And a ton of new young fans will be hauled in watching a new Adam Superstar from scratch! How about that...Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley! I recall seeing on our local Singapore newspaper a big picture of Elvis and Priscilla his then girlfriend, she was just 16 years old.
Adam wants the job. He's keeping speculation alive. He just tweeted about it again. It's a gif by lambertizeme that I don't know how to put in here. Glitzylady soon will since it's a tweet.
I just want to say one thing and I'm not in any way trying to argue. It is just my opinion. Lam-My also has very good points. Adam did not get where he is today by being afraid to take a chance. Yes he did say no he didn't want to do the BR movie because of the way some act about him now being the front man for Queen. But on the other hand there are a half a million people as BM said going to see them in this American tour that is sucess. They have been extremely sucessful. People are very lucky to see them they only do limited tours. They would not be seeing them without Adam Brian has said that multiple times. Adam does these Queen concert his way and in no way copy FM but still has that excitement and fantastic vocals of FM so it works. All celebs get nonsense out there on the internet. Maybe Adam gets even more do to FM being an icon that has passed away just like Elvis. So maybe it would bring that scrutiny but you know the saying no pain no gain. We love Adam and none of us want to see him hurt or ran down unjustly on the internet. But Adam Lambert did not get where he is today by letting that stop him when he thinks something right for him. The FM BR movie wasn't but to me the Elvis Biopic is certainly more him. Elvis fans are older certainly there probably are some young ones that show interest in the days of Elvis. However never saw him live just his recordings and movies. That just like many young people discovered Queen and love the music to them it's new music. To some young people Elvis music would be relatively new. I think Adam would be very good playing Elvis because he certainly more physically like young Elvis than FM. We can argue back and forth about using his own voice which I think he could or lip Singing however I've seen sucessful movies about singers that passed on done both ways that were sucessful. I have no idea how this will work out. I remember Rock of ages where I believe Adam tried out. The choreographer a famous one for the film said Adam Lambert is the only singer today who could do those 80 songs justice. However they went with the big actor Tom Cruise and the movie came and went not very sucessful although TC has had much sucess in the past but not in this movie. Hollywood very short sided that way. Dont know if PP and LMP have the last word for the movie. One would hope so. Movies about Elvis have been kind of been done to death. I think Adam would bring a fresh view to it. I also understand how Nanbert feels she does not want him to be hurt or have to take all the crap he unjustly taken for QAL. But inspite of all the QAL very, very sucessful. I think we should just wait and see before we get upset about anything because no matter what we think it wont a whole lot of difference in the end. I think every person that posted have good points. This is just how I feel will not make any difference in the scene of things. I just think if Adam wants it he should at least have a chance to try out. Like the producer or director or whatever he is for the plymoblil movie said Adam is not only a singer but an incredable actor. This is pretty much all I have to say about it. Every person on here as long as respectful has a right to an opinion.
All of what Sue said in her 9:10 AM "one thing" post. yeah!
I just want to add that Adam can't make everyone happy so he should make himself happy. As an Adam fan we have put up with a lot of crap and insults, I've learned to roll with the punches no matter what Adam chooses to do. He has had lots of successes and great accomplishments. I love the glory times! That's my idea of being a fan.
Hey everyone...if Adam really wants to do it...and he gets it...more power to him. He's already proven he can "sing Elvis"...and how!!!! JMO...but I prefer Adam's voice and style to both Elvis and Freddie.
If Adam got the part, he would knock it out of the ball park! But if he has to lip-sync to Elvis's voice, I feel that would be a BIG mistake. Why hire Adam Lambert...the current best male singer today...to lip-sync to Elvis's voice?
With QAL he has even said he went out of his way to avoid imitating Freddie...because he thought it would "be tacky". Of course, in a movie ABOUT Elvis, I'm sure he would not feel so constrained...he would need to act more Elvis-like. That's legitimate.
But anyone who thinks the love of Elvis Presley has declined with time is sadly uninformed. Presley's home, Graceland, is a major tourist site...consistently receiving between half a million and 750,000 visitors a year over the last 30 years! It is the second most visited home in America....after the White House.
Elvis Presley music is still selling like hotcakes...according to Forbes, he is "the best selling solo artist of all time" and "still moves more than 1 million albums per year"!....that means NEW fans, since the "old" ones already have his albums!
Just so everyone realizes that this is REALLY "sacred ground"....not just a biopic about an old, dead, almost forgotten singer! That is furthest from the truth for the well informed! People from outside the U.S. may be unaware of this. "Presley earned $35 million before tax last year"! Elvis is as revered in the U.S. as Freddie is in the U.K, maybe more.
I understand that Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley usually have final say on "everything Elvis"...and undoubtedly they will decide who plays Elvis....AND WHOSE VOICE IS USED.
If Adam gets the part and will sing in his OWN voice...hurray!... NO ONE could/would be better!....and let the chips fall where they may. I will be the first in line at the box-office!
But please, please, Adam....don't lip-sync...ever!....for anyone!
I do agree with both Nanbert and Patria post. Elvis voice was great but woman were smitten with more than his voice. I was not a huge Elvis fan but I bought a few of his records. The older girl across the street from Our house when I was in junior high was insane for him. I could not keep any record for him she stole them so I gave up buying them my allowance wasn't exactly huge. Elvis was quite the womanizer and I dont believe he was ever faithful to PP even though he loved her. I didn't want to bring that up but like I said Hollywood very short sited. Even tho LMP and PP probably have a big say in it the money people sure will to. There sure has been quite a few leading men who were gay both in old Hollywood and recent Hollywood however in most cases they hide it and usually eventually it comes out. Rock Hudson was a leading man and a friend of FM he was gay didn't come out until he got sick. Hollywood used to have them stage a marriage that quickly dissolved. Even Eldon John did that. It was hard then not easy now either. I think Adam would be brilliant at it and as I said could play the straight parts. But Elvis was quite the lover boy and I am afraid Hollywood producers are to short sided to see Adam as being an Elvis heart throb. However Adam is a heart throb he is gay but there are plenty woman young and older that have a bit of a heart flutter for Adam. I dont even know if Adam will ultimately try out and I to dont want him to be hurt however if he wants it I hope he at least gets to. However Adam doing fine and if not this I believe the right part will eventually come for him. I just wish Hollywood high ups could see the forest for the trees. Maybe LMP and PP feel the same way who knows. But he would be great. I just hope if not this he eventually gets a movie part that suits him and he can show his multiple talents on the big screen. Doing the Play Mobil Movie is certainly a start and the producer of that film seems to have great respect for Adam's talent. I'm sure he will make other movies as well.
Adam was asked recently what he loved most in the process of making his album Velvet. What struck me among other things was, he said: 'I made a world with no rules...' I'll post it if I come across it again. He elaborated that he took the driver's seat in all aspects of making Velvet and went with his own instincts based on his experiences/ups and downs and his album Velvet is actually Him. So Adam is not concerned with insults or bad mouthing anymore; he has crossed that realm. Holding back due to being afraid of public opinion is retrogressive, no more his concern; unlike several years back where he tried to listen and follow advice thinking it would help him succeed better; that didn't bode well with him; like he said: 'I made a world with no rules...' Now back to playing Elvis, if he does get the part, a new movie star will be born right in front of our eyes. For me, it's not about Elvis...it's just about Adam and if another actor is selected, fine but won't be watching the movie.
Totally agree LAm-My. Like I said Adam did not get to be an extremely sucessful frontman for Queen by not taking chances or letting some internet losers rule his life. He has said he was scared to death doing idol and that huge chairity concert when he first started QAL and other times. However he never showed it or let it stop him. He gets scared like others but he forges on. Like I said Elvis movies have been done quite a bit. The only person I can see do a fresher version of Elvis is Adam. I'm not interested in seeing anyone else either.

Wah, Brian is so smart, brainy astrophysicist, can play keyboard as well as being one of the top Rock guitarists. Spike Edney, very good pianist/keyboardist, also a brainy prof.
I remember saying to myself actually if they do another Elvis movie and do not use Adam they are stupid. Probably said it to my husband as well. That was before I even knew about this biopic. Actually I still feel this way. I remember on Idol some were calling him the modern Elvis.we all know Brian and Rodger call him camp Elvis. Was just remembering that.

I feel like one of my new songs, *'Superpower', is like a second cousin to 'Another One Bites The Dust', it has a little bit of the same DNA. ~ Adam Lambert
He added that the song is empowering and helps one to find/radiate their own power. I accidentally stumbled on my poem in my archive with *Super power!
Truck-n-Roll at the Vegas show So huge all lined in a row Walking alone in the dark Adam, now you're spectator at Beyonce's A while ago, you're the Voice on stage Perhaps you feel a load lifted Very enjoyable for me So much so, I wrote directly from the live streams Racing through my typing fast and furious, barely keeping up With the QAL speed...no room for error You once again exemplify your *Super power! With MAMA deliverance, dynamism...last but not least You kill! with benevolence! 🐦🐕
Well, there are all kinds of human Super power As long as it uplifts people like Adam says Find/radiate your own power to help others Adam gives LGBT a face! a voice! basic human dignity! Not to be afraid to reveal their true identity Here a word of caution, their very life is on the line! I can't but also relate Super power to Joseph Schooling So young yet a tower of strength To power home an all-time Olympic Butterfly Thus helping Singaporeans to believe, fulfill their lives...

I guess I kind of said more than one thing didn't I.
I so agree with you Patricia.
IMO they will do like BR and choose a straight actor to play Elvis.
What struck me among other things was, he said:
'I made a world with no rules...'
I'll post it if I come across it again.
He elaborated that he took the driver's seat in all aspects of making Velvet and went with his own instincts based on his experiences/ups and downs and his album Velvet is actually Him.
So Adam is not concerned with insults or bad mouthing anymore; he has crossed that realm. Holding back due to being afraid of public opinion is retrogressive, no more his concern; unlike several years back where he tried to listen and follow advice thinking it would help him succeed better; that didn't bode well with him; like he said: 'I made a world with no rules...'
Now back to playing Elvis, if he does get the part, a new movie star will be born right in front of our eyes. For me, it's not about Elvis...it's just about Adam and if another actor is selected, fine but won't be watching the movie.
If it's not Adam, I won't go see it.
Sue, we tend to see eye to eye; perhaps belonging to same era haw haw...Thanks!

I've posted the link to the "Sunrise" TV extended interview on a couple of threads. It really is good and he makes it very clear that he'd love to do the Elvis movie so I hope it's offered to him, and all being well, he accepts. Then I'd most definitely see it!

Helloo Dr Brian! I see you are waving frantically to get past handsome Adam...I see you loud and clear! Your brain is handsome, well, overall too.

Truck-n-Roll at the Vegas show
So huge all lined in a row
Walking alone in the dark
Adam, now you're spectator at Beyonce's
A while ago, you're the Voice on stage
Perhaps you feel a load lifted
Very enjoyable for me
So much so, I wrote directly from the live streams
Racing through my typing fast and furious, barely keeping up
With the QAL speed...no room for error
You once again exemplify your *Super power!
With MAMA deliverance, dynamism...last but not least
You kill! with benevolence! 🐦🐕

Well, there are all kinds of human Super power
As long as it uplifts people like Adam says
Find/radiate your own power to help others
Adam gives LGBT a face! a voice! basic human dignity!
Not to be afraid to reveal their true identity
Here a word of caution, their very life is on the line!
I can't but also relate Super power to Joseph Schooling
So young yet a tower of strength
To power home an all-time Olympic Butterfly
Thus helping Singaporeans to believe, fulfill their lives...
