Fabulous!!! So perfect. Love the choices he made for the character and the song! Cannot wait to see this movie!!

And hope this leads to other projects for Adam. He has said he'd love to be in a new musical -- but how about a huge revival of Jesus Christ Superstar so Adam can play his dream role, Judas...?!

Adam was BORN to do stuff like this. The theater is in his blood, and this song would be a fantastic live stage number. He's an actor through and through and Lino recognizes what a gem he has discovered. And yes, I hope this leads to more acting in all its various forms.

Adam is a FEARLESS.

Well fudge, I don't know how to buy it. Apple has $32 of mine and I can't even figure out how to get in the new Apple music and spend it. I've signed in 3 times and nothing. I hope his new album comes in a physical CD.

Never mind, I found it by accident as always and bought so it's now somewhere on my computer. I'm so awful at this stuff I'm surprised the computer police don't come and take it away from me. Oh well, next challenge, Adam's new album.

Ye God's! Adam is due to return to the stage on Broadway! He'll kill it and win those Tony Awards! This song is amazing, I love the humourus lyrics, my daddy, his daddy and his daddy etc., then his evil laugh and did you like it and then keeps laughing! Lol Oh I can't wait for this movie. I don't know if I should get the CD or only Adams song. Didn't I read that Adam has a duet with Meaghan Trainer?

This song is literally "To Die For" LOL. I love it.

I've been listening to this on Ytube on a "loop" for the past half hour .. cannot hear it enough!! The more I listen the more I'm reminded of his song "My Conviction" when he was in the stage play HAIR in Germany ... so ADAM-ish!! I Love them both & now I can play them back to back on Ytube ... here is the link ..

Adam stays in character the entire song... so much fun. Can’t wsit for the movie to come to US.

Lambert Outlaw...you beat me to the punch. "My Conviction" was the first thing I thought about too after hearing Adam "do" Maximus.

Hey, all you theater-goers who want to get Adam tied up on Broadway, please keep in mind that, like most Broadway stars, he will have a lot less press and public appearances, and will not have as much public "contact" as he does now.

I, among many, will never have the opportunity to see him perform if he spends all his time on Broadway. Why not in musicals on screen or TV? We need a new batch of great musicals! Alternately, touring and appearing on TV, like now...only more...will probably keep him more in the public eye. IMO

Totally magnificently performed. I am in total awe of Adam loved every single minute of it. WoW! Just plain incredable.

broddybounce said...

Nanbert: no, no, I totally get your point, we still need him out on the road a bit making his good looks & talent available to the masses (and not sacrifice the remaining time because Brian and/or Roger is going to eventually gonna call it quits -- although I hope not too soon!). No, yah, maybe not Broadway next year or the year after, but eventually. He has indicated it's one of his goals. But gotta be the right part, right production. But, actually, think of it this way: you may have a better chance of actually meeting him, shaking his hand, when on Broadway. It's a tradition for the stars to meet fans right outside the stage door after the show. Hey, you can make a weekend of it -- take the train(?) to NY for the weekend and see him in the show twice or even three times!

Am I convincing you yet? ;-)

broddybounce said...

Adding to what you wrote, Sunflower...

The "daddy" lyrics go as follows:

I am ruler of these masses
Like-a my daddy and my daddy's daddy before then
(Daddy!)

I think this is hysterical -- the kids aren't gonna get that last Daddy reference -- and I wonder if that's actually part of the original lyric or if Adam added it to be humorous. At least the way he says it had me laughing out loud!

Hi!! Not being able to go to the theater .. movie or otherwise ... maybe I should stay out of this convo but I just have to say that I think Jesus Christ Super Star has been done enough .. I tried watching the original .. did not like it at all .. tried watching another remake on cable .. don't know from where .. even worse than the original ... so I could care less if they decide to try again!! I'm not a prude but I think some things should be left alone ... adding music to JCSS only cheapens the Original drama!! So if they want to remake something why not something light & romantic .. there are so many musicals in the archives that ADAM could bring back ... Phantom of the Opera .. not that it is light & romantic ... I don't know!! Maybe I'm too far out of touch with today's likes & dislikes but I disagree with another do over for JCSS no matter who is in it!! Don't hate me but that's not my idea of entertainment!!

broddybounce said...

Tess, no worries, you're entitled to your opinion! But I think you might be confusing Jesus Christ Superstar with some other show. Not only does JCS already have music, it's ALL MUSIC! If memory serves, there is NO dialogue whatsoever, it's all done through song. The show is written by Andrew Lloyd Webber who, I must admit, is not one of my favorite composers of musicals -- I think he changed Broadway in a bad way. That being said, I do like his earlier work, which includes Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat ... and JCS. It is a very operatic type show and I can see why Adam would want to do it. He would be fantastic in a revival and he would UP the coolness factor tenfold.

Actually, I just refreshed my memory and Adam said way back in 2009, after Idol, that one of his dreams would be to play Judas if they did a movie remake. Unfortunately, he didn't get his chance with the TV remake and I doubt they'll now do a movie remake. But even a short star turn on a Broadway revival would be EPIC, trust me -- even if he just did it for two months or something, and they had rotating casts of other stars, which shows often do, such as CHICAGO THE MUSICAL (which, by the way, I co-managed at the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas in 1999-2000 with Chita Rivera and Ben Vereen). We switched out the stars every two months or so. So this would fulfill Adam's dream to not only play Judas, but to do it on Broadway, and he wouldn't necessarily have to commit THAT much time.

Funny, when he was asked to elaborate on it back in 2009, he said that while he wanted to play Judas, that the role of Jesus Christ could be played by ... Kris Allen! Now that would be interesting! (but would never happen -- and that was then, and things are different now!)

Speaking of going to the movies, Playmobil the Movie won't be released in theaters in the US until Dec 06. I went to the movie "Yesterday" on Sunday and fully expected to see previews for PTM. They didn't preview it and now I know why. I was looking forward to it at the end of this month. bummer

Sunflower said...

You guys I found out from Twitter that the Playmobile has been pushed to December 6! Something about STYX the distribution company is promoting the Jennifer Lopez movie and another movie I forgot the name. I hate going to the movies in December, it's cold, hate the bulk of the clothes, Christmas shopping and other Winter activities. I love Summer more. Ugh I'm not happy. Thanks Broddy for the correct lyrics.

broddybounce said...

Patria, not all trailers are played with all films -- as a general rule (although it doesn't always hold up in every case) the genres and/or target audiences have to be closely related -- and since "Playmobil" is more for kids and "Yesterday" more for adults, you likely wouldn't see it at that movie. You would more likely see it at "Toy Story 4" (which I'm taking my sister to see tomorrow)....

HOWEVER...

You two are both correct! The film has unfortunately been pushed from August 30th to December 6th (although I read that, at one point, it was going to be released for Thanksgiving weekend, but that went off the table). And, yes, Sunflower, because they want to put all P&A (Print & Advertising) resources into the new JLo / Cardi B film, Hustlers, and give each film its own due.

While this is a true bummer -- in addition to the fact that I had wanted to take my sister for her birthday, August 31st -- it's not the worst thing in the world since it will more or less be around for Christmas. That could be a blessing -- but it could also be a curse, I suppose. If the film is really good and takes off, it could be a big winner during that time period; however, there also could be a lot of Christmas releases that could overshadow it. But, then again, December 6th vs. Christmas week, so it will have some time to build momentum.

Also, August 30th is probably not the best weekend to release the film anyway -- people are still doing summer travel! Early December, everyone will be home -- and want to see Adam Lambert in PLAYMOBIL THE MOVIE!!!!

I may be dissapointed but think about it! I did think Aug. 30 was an odd time. Kids just going back to school
Parents buying school clothes and supplies. Lots of home work. The kids get out middle Drcember for christmas break. But its Christmas time. Kids are hopefully going to want those playmobil
Toys for Christmas. People shopping sister or dad or mom keep the kids happy going to fun movie. The down side for parents is buying the toys for Christmas finding them. Sure Amazon has them there gonna sale.
The song wont be forgotten or will have renewed interest from the movie when out. However as far as I know the release dates have not changed for the other countries. Aug. 9 for the UK. They are releasing this movie from aug.7 all the way through early 2020 in 35 countries. Do not know when school starts in the UK its mid to third week of August around here.
They are as far as I know still steadily releasing the movie around the world. Starting Aug. 7. So all those people will be hearing Adam sing this fantastic song. I think this is much better for the movie in the US all the way around. Broddy I do agree with you.

I think it was a smart move to put the movie out before the holidays, everyone is crazy busy now getting stuff done before school starts. We have 2 full weeks off for .xmas this year.

Nanbert said...

Broddybounce....I won't plan on seeing Adam on Broadway in a few years, because I doubt I'll be around that long, or able to make the trip if I am. I just want to be able to get to see him as much as possible on tour, on TV, in movies, interviews, etc. while I'm still able.

Truthfully, I will not go to New York ever again. Been there many times in my earlier years, but now big cities and big crowds give me the heebie-jeebies! I stay away from them as much as possible.

Allysa Mentor...you're probably right about the movie being moved to the holidays being better. At first I was thinking August would be before school started (so a good time), but now I realize it would be about the time school IS starting.. at the end of August.
