Adam Lambert "Mad World" at Global Citizen:
Global Citizen did not provide this song on their YouTube, so this is a fan video (it also contains "Superpower" but that portion of the video is out-of-sync); if you have Instagram, watch Adam's IG below which contains a better quality version, although missing Adam's introduction

One World, Together At Home is an all-day digital (webcast) and broadcast network entertainment event presented by nonprofit Global Citizen and produced in partnership with Lady Gaga to raise funds for global COVID-19 response efforts and to tribute first responders and healthcare workers who have been bravely serving on the front lines of this world pandemic.

Adam Lambert will be participating in this event.

The six-hour webcast begins at 11:00am PDT / 2:00pm EDT / 7:00pm GMT.  According to the YouTube page for the webcast, Adam will be appearing and/or performing on the webcast twice: once within the first two hours, and again sometime within the 3rd & 4th hours.

BROADCAST NETWORK

The two-hour broadcast network portion — which Adam does not appear on — will begin at various times, depending on your time zone.  All three major television networks, ABC, CBS and NBC, will be carrying it at 8:00pm for both Pacific and Eastern time zones, but for Central and Mountain, please check your local listings — however, those two zones usually begin their prime time programming at 7:00pm.

If you are in Pacific or Mountain time, however, you will be able to watch it earlier, as cable networks will be starting the broadcast at 5:00pm PDT and 6:00pm MDT — however CDT and EDT will have the same 7:00pm and 8:00pm times, respectively, as the broadcast networks.  Some of the cable networks showing the event include AXS TV, MTV Live, MSNBC, NatGeo and Univision.  It can also be viewed on Amazon Prime Video as well as Pluto TV, a free ancillary programming service that is offered by cable companies such as Comcast.

The broadcast network portion may also be viewed using the same Global Citizen YouTube window above as is used for the daytime webcast.

In the UK, unfortunately it will not be broadcast until Sunday evening (19 April), beginning at 7:15pm GMT on BBC One.  However, if you have access to any of the cable networks as listed above, you may watch it there or online such as YouTube.

So Adam will be performing twice! Yay! Can't wait to see what he does.

So excited to see Adam! Twice! Yoohoo!

Nanbert said...

Me too! HURRAY!

Sue Smith said...

That's so wonderful hope I can get it in!

Oops, just re-read the above announcement. It says "Adam will be appearing and/or performing" on two episodes. So we can be assured of seeing him twice...but not that he will be performing either time! I can't even accept that possibility!

It'll break my heart if he doesn't perform at all....but I will be euphoric if he performs twice. I guess we all feel the same. I'll watch with bated breath...and fret until it becomes clear. If he performs, he will outshine all the others! As Roger Taylor says..."No one can outsing Adam".

I do SO wish he would be on the evening TV program, too....and performing, of course!

Been watching the live stream. He sang "Mad World" magnificently. He spoke about the song first and said it was very appropriate to the occasion. He used a special "isolation box" that is used for home recording. It keeps ambient noise from interfering with the recording. Looks like he's been learning how to use some of his new equipment. He looked and sounded wonderful. He's supposed to be singing in the second two-hour segment also. Can't wait to hear what he does.

BTW, I didn't know what an isolation box was. There was a comment posted about it by someone after Adam sang. I am no music expert!

Hi Nanbert! That was simply my editorial judgment to put "appearing and/or performing," not being certain if he's performing twice because Global Citizen has been very sketchy on details — although I'm tending to think that both 'appearances' will be performances!

AND... I just posted his first performance! Not the best audio/video quality as it was shot off of someone's computer monitor, but it's the best vid I could find right now and I'll post a better version as soon as someone puts that up.

He sounded WONDERFUL! And love that he's putting his new sound equipment to full use!

Adam was impeccable. The song was very appropriate, and he looks gorgeous with a shorter beard

Dee R Gee said...

He just sang a super sassy version of SUPERPOWER! It was great! He sang the lyric, "I know I'm not the only one who thinks that this COVID is ok." I'd say he nailed both his songs perfectly.

Dee R Gee said...

Actually, he did not say COVID. He say "sitch." Like situation. He has used that before when he has sung the song on TV.

The same YouTuber who posted "Mad World" just put up Adam's second performance, "Superpower" — and Global Citizen immediately took it down over copyright! Oddly, they didn't take down "Mad World." Currently there is one other video on YouTube of "Superpower" but the sound is almost inaudible, so I'm not going to officially put that on the main post, but will do so here in case you missed the actual webcast of it and just want to see what it looks like. Hopefully there will be a better quality one up there later and I'll post it if it doesn't get taken down again!

And, Dee — thank you SO MUCH for mentioning the "isolation box." I happen to be on the first part of my journey in becoming a professional voiceover artist and am currently researching setting up my home studio — so that very much interested me. I did some online sleuthing and discovered that the actual name of that acoustic item is called "reflection filter." There are more than a dozen brands of them — Adam's is from a company called Auray.

I did discover that those work great for singing but, for various reasons, aren't all that effective for voiceover. But it was something I didn't know about and I really appreciate you're having mentioned it! Thank you.

Dee R Gee said...

Like I said, I had no ideas what it was, but someone posted an explanation after the performance. Handy to know the official name, "reflection filter." Guess "isolation box" is a slang term for it. Exciting to learn that you are pursuing professional voiceover work! It's certainly a combination of skill and talent that most people don't have. Hope you find success with it.

I'm happy that Adam is using his new equipment and that it works well. I hope it prompts him to give us some more music from his home. Lord knows, singers won't be out singing to live audiences any time soon.

Adam is trending on Twitter for Mad World and I expect him to get some major Twitter buzz for Superpower, too. These appearances pay off in multiple ways.

broddybounce said...

Just found two different people tweeting each of the two songs — POSTED!

And, thanks, Dee! It's been a longtime desire, just taken more than a minute to get it together. I got the voice, just need a bit more training and getting together a demo reel and home studio.

On my Twitter, Adam is indeed trending but they say it's with hashtag #superpower. YAY!!

It was wonderful both songs. I listened along time. I'm wore out I was trying to wipe off alot of kitchen things while listening. My back snapping severely at me. I went back on Super P 3 times couldn't any more. Wish I tried on Mad World a couple times so good. I tried to fine Mad W on YT of Adam today performance I cannot. I've got to see that again. Broddy I hope you can put that one up here. Both he did so well. E ONLINE said Adam wowed on MW.
He looked great the red hair was extremely short lived.
He looked wonderful had on his Velvet shirt one of many. That shirt was one of my favorite colors it looked splendid on him. After all is over maybe the songs will be up there on YT.
I think where Adam usually says the witches and the demons better get out my way. Adam interjected Covid instead.
Thank you so much broddy for posting this for us. I know it's still on I watched a very long time.

Nanbert said...

Glad he got to perform on both segments. He sounded great, and looked great.....so what else is new? It would have been nice if he had been able to sing directly to the camera the whole time, but the set-up evidently did not lend itself to that arrangement. But that's a small detail.

That heavenly velvet shirt he was wearing was a gorgeous color, wasn't it? It looked wonderful on him, too.

Dee R Gee said...

Sure, you are right. I was wrong. Where he sings "witches and demons" he interjects "Covid." I had it mixed up. And yes, Nanbert, that velvet shirt was delicious.

Glamitup said...

He was brilliant on both! So good!

Watched the TV broadcast, too. It was better than I thought it would be. I would have loved to see Adam be a part of it. Everyone did a very good job.

Tomorrow is the GLAAD awards. Adam is performing!

broddybounce said...

Just posted high quality video and sound of Adam's two performances. They are both taken from the same 6-hour long video of the entire afternoon event that someone posted — which, so far, has not been removed by Global Citizen, fingers crossed! The video and audio may be out of sync, however, so apologies for that. If Gelly or another one of the regular Adam YouTubers post separate videos of the performances, I will replace these. But at least now you can see high quality audio & video!

I thought Glaad award online next week 26 April. Where is that at I tried to look it up for April 19. will it be online? I know there are physical ones later in the year Glaad awards.

broddybounce said...

Right you are, Sue! It's not today, but a week from today. I'll be doing a post about it in the next day or so.

Dee R Gee said...

Yes, I was wrong. GLAAD is on the 26th. Sorry I confused things.
Still recovering from Adam's fabulous performances. He never disappoints, even when he's singing surrounded by a bunch of potted plants. LOL

Sue Smith said...

That's ok Dee I stay confused lately. He did do a fantastic job.

Happy Adam was included with this event! Boy when he started singing "Mad World", I just cried, got emotional with the song. "Superpower" was good!

Rosemary White said...

Superb performances!!! I love the color of his shirt which looks more like satin than velvet. imo

Had to come here to 24/7 to watch the Mad World video because it's not on the Global Citizen YouTube channel. Superpower IS on there tho.. Strange? I noticed on the GC YouTube channel list of the videos, some said "private video", could it be "Mad World" is a private video? I mean "Mad World" WAS included with the rest but not "Superpower" until now BUT "Mad World" is now gone!? What the heck?

broddybounce said...

Thanks for the heads-up on all that, Sunflower. Turns out that Global Citizen's "web police" have removed most of the videos that fans have put up. So, I have replaced both songs at the very top of the post. First — and pending Global Citizen's possible removal of it, as well — "Mad World" is a fan video, average quality, that has both songs on it; however, for some reason, "Superpower" is way out of sync. But, no matter: I added the "Superpower" video provided by Global Citizen. And, yes, Sunflower, I'm surprised they didn't include "Mad World" — they have both video for other artists who performed two songs, so this is a mystery (could it be a copyright issue or just an oversight?). We still do have a high quality version of "Mad World" — the one that Adam put on his IG, if you are able to access that, but it doesn't have his intro.

Thanks broddy for the info. I can access to Adams IG. :)
