iHeartRadio's Inside The Studio: Adam Lambert

From iHeartRadio website (edited):
iHeartRadio presents Inside The Studio, a brand-new, in-depth series featuring intimate conversations with some of music’s biggest stars.  Each episode features an unscripted sit-down with artists on the verge of releasing new material — rounded out with a sound-rich tour through their lives and discographies.  ...  (The show) is written and hosted by Joe Levy, a Contributing Editor at Rolling Stone, and correspondent for Access Hollywood ... and is produced by iHeartRadio and Audiation.
On the latest Inside the Studio, host Joe Levy is joined by Adam Lambert, whose new album, “Velvet” (More Is More/Empire), was four years in the making. Adam talks about his time on “American Idol,” how performing with Queen has helped drive his own recording, and how he’s found the freedom to make the music he wants.

I do have to say, this interviewer is just a wee bit pedantic in his interview style. But I do appreciate his choosing Adam to be his guest this week and, overall, a great interview.

I liked it a lot...an intelligent interview. It took us into much more detail about Adam's working process....and, especially, Adam's thought processes for this time in his career....than we usually hear. Adam was more introspective than usual. He seems to have sorted out where he is in his career/life...and how he got there....and zooming in on where he wants to go. He's so articulate and intelligent.

Maybe the eventual new Broadway show that he decides to be in will be an adaptation of the movie, Velvet Goldmine! He keeps returning to that. I'm gonna have to watch it one of these days.

broddy, I agree with you about the interviewer's style, but all in all, this was a good interview. Liked the details of developing the songs. It's quite a process. Adam knows so many good people in the music business. Adam's music doesn't sound like anyone else's. And that is a very good thing.

BTW, Adam's been pretty quiet the past few days. Any theories? I hope he's getting his music equipment set up so that he can give us a special music performance pretty darn soon. So many artists are doing it. I would love to see him right up there in the forefront with the others.

Dee R Gee, I was wondering why Adam would be getting all that music equipment now....since he can't/won't (I hope) invite musicians over during this pandemic. I figured he was wanting to set up a studio at home, where he could work, maybe even record, with fellow musicians eventually.

My understanding is that Adam doesn't play any instruments himself...so it doesn't seem likely that he could give us a performance with that equipment during this isolation period.

Anyway, I really love hearing Adam acapella. Hope he'll do more of that. His voice is so beautiful and impeccable that it doesn't need other instruments to color, enhance, or frame it.
