Here is Adam's statement from the e-mail he sent fans a few weeks ago:
Surprise! I’m doing a show! So excited to announce that I’ll be doing a Livestream Performance live from The Roxy on my birthday! It’ll be live around the world and I’ll be performing twice just to make sure you all have a chance to be a part of it. So excited to be able to share this day with you all and celebrate by performing songs from Velvet, some of my favorite hits, and a couple surprises in there.  Can’t wait to see you all on January 29th!

And here are Adam's Instagram & Twitter with special video announcements of the shows — for IG, be sure to click arrow at the far right of the screen after you watch first video as there is a second one, a glossy promo of the event; for Twitter, both videos are posted below.  YouTube has been added for those who do not have IG or Twitter — with appreciation to user y0116jp for posting.

And note that there is merch ie t-shirts etc available to order as well, just like at an in-person concert.

And virtual meet & greets and signed set lists, although it appears both of those options are already sold out.

Fantastic news! We will finally get a real concert with Velvet songs and more! This is going to be great!

Gonna be using my new laptop to buy a ticket. My old one finally bit the dust. Been building my favorites list. Hope this posts ok.

I bought my ticket! I opted for the evening show, 7 pm. Pacific time. I wanted to buy another for the afternoon one but an evening show is perfect. Yes broddy I get that way. Lol

Wonderful news! Hurray for Adam! Hurray for US!!!! Wish I had someone to WATCH/SHARE it with! So excited!

Dee R Gee....seems your new laptop is posting here just fine. I know how nerve-racking it must be to start out with a new one....I recently had to replace my computer, and it's taking a while to get comfortable with it. Every time it does something unexpected, I go into a panic! Can't live without this contact with the outside world!

Iuhuuuuuu! I bought my ticket for the firs show. To me is 10 pm.

What a wonderful way to celebrate Adam's birthday. I think it will be the party with the most guests he has ever had. I'm very impatient.

Dee R Gee said...

Just bought my ticket for the first show!

Great news and welcome distraction from all the negative news everywhere !

I'm wondering whether the two concerts are shown "live"...or pre-recorded. Or, is the first one "live", and the second a recording of the first? It might be a mute point, but I've always noticed that Adam rarely sings the same song exactly the same each time...a trait of his I've noticed, and like.

Wondering this because I've purchased a ticket for the first (3:00 pm EST) concert, but know that I'll probably love to turn right around and watch the second (10:00 pm EST), too.

Hopefully there will still be time to purchase a ticket to the second show AFTER the first one....just in case I decide that "I HAVE to see that again". But that would be an extravagance..... that will be easier to overlook later (haha) if the first one is "THAT GOOD"!

I hope Adam's show is a smashing world-wide success! It's interesting to see that it is scheduled to be shown world-wide at convenient times for fans in all time zones. Adam is most definitely a world-wide star!

I wonder if we'll ever know how many tickets are sold.

broddybounce said...

Ok, Nanbert, homework assignment: go back and CAREFULLY re-read the post!! :)

Nanbert said...

I did, broddybounce....and I find Adam's post rather ambiguous ....hence my speculation. First Adam says...."I'll be doing a 'Livestream Performance live...". Note: he says "a" performance, not 2 performances.

Then. he follows it shortly with...."and, I'll be performing twice..."

That leaves it open for the first performance to be live...and the second a recording of the first....which would seem the most practical, thrifty and time-saving way to do it, IMO.

Am I missing something....or just nit-picking?

Nanbert said...

However....Shoshanna says "two live performances", which is less ambiguous. Whatever!....I'll be watching at least one....and most likely both! Whee!

broddybounce said...

Sorry, I thought what I wrote plus what Shosh tweeted made it clear. And I hope you were not offended by my playful joshing, Nanbert. No, actually, the morning I first wrote that post it was unclear and I thought it meant one performance with the second one being a repeat of the first. Then I saw Shosh's tweet and that clarified it so I completely changed the post. I probably should have added a word or two in there to clarify I guess. Sorry!

But fabulous news we're getting two fresh shows! I wonder if Adam will change up a few songs for each show. ???

Nanbert said...

No problem, broddybounce...I was not remotely offended. In fact, I always enjoy personal contact/discussion with you.

Like you, I wonder if Adam will "change up" the songs and arrangements....and, knowing him, his costumes? Maybe he'll have "interlude" music that gives him time to change...like he did in his recent tours. If he has that fabulous guitarist, Adam Ross, I hope so.

It will be delightful to see him in actual concert mode. I'm sorry there will be no audience, because I know how much an audience enhances performing FOR HIM. In truth, I will miss the audience, too, because I LOVE hearing other people's pleasure and applause for "our guy". And, it must be really hard to perform without an audience...not as much incentive and fun for Adam.

Just hope he doesn't wear anything with holes in it...heh heh!....and leaves some hair on the sides above his ears! I noticed the suggestion of a mullet on one of his recent photos, so we may see that in his performance...I've no opinion on that variation...yet!...
heh heh....unless, of course, the total "mullet style" requires shaved sides. Oh my!

broddybounce said...

Agree with all your points!

I do think there will actually be a little audience. I'm sure he'll be able to have his family, a few friends, and management team present, properly socially distanced within the club, watching and applauding. It will be like the late-night talk shows where the production staff sits in the audience. The applause is a lot lighter, but still welcome. We shall see!

Nanbert said...

An aside....when I purchased a "ticket" for this virtual performance, I noticed Adam merchandise also available.....but was struck by the absence of music (albums) for sale. Wonder why? It would have been a perfect opportunity for that!

Perhaps it would have presented a conflict of interests between suppliers?...or...?

Happy birthday, Adam!

It's so cute watching him fiddling with his mic stand. :) He doesn't have a huge bunch of roadies and assistants to help with that stuff.

How much before the show should we log in? About minutes or so?

My show is at 2pm. I am on Central time. Can't wait!

Thank you for the Neil & Tyler find, Mi Re La. It's terrific! I have just created a separate post for it, below this one, as I want to keep this one at top.

Nanbert said...

Thanks for the great link, MiReLa....Wow! That was a fantastic birthday performance for Adam by Neil and Tyler! I think we fans of Queen and Adam Lambert are so overwhelmed by the talents of Brian, Roger and Adam that we forget the other absolutely brilliant talents that make the band so complete and PERFECT... the absolutely indispensible Neil, Tyler and Spike!

Dee R Gee said...

Just watched the show! I loved every second of it. I won't spoil it for anyone watching it later, but I will say that Adam looked and sounded GREAT and the show was a fabulous mix of old and new and soft and full-voice loud! Worth every penny!

broddybounce said...

Oh, wasn't it wonderful, Dee..?!? Definitely watching tonight's show too!! All I'll say is if anyone didn't see the first show you are in for a real treat. Amazing setlist! My lips are sealed! 🤫

Nanbert said...

I completely agree, Dee R Gee and broddybounce...this afternoon's show was fabulous! Adam LIVE is simply unequalled. He looked gorgeous..... and sang (I'm out of superlatives!) AS ONLY HE CAN! T H A T V O I C E!

Surprisingly, I thought I would miss the audience atmosphere. But that thought was quickly dispersed as I became joyfully immersed in watching/hearing Adam up close and personal.

Like you two, I won't comment any further, in deference to those who are still waiting to see tonight's show....and, yes broddy, they are in for a treat.

And, of course, I turned around right away and bought another ticket for tonight! I knew I would all the time. Hurray...more tonight!

I wonder how many others did the same...or have already bought tickets for both concerts.

One thought... one HOPE!...wouldn't be great if Adam turned this (these) concerts into a DVD? I say "these" concerts because I don't know if the setlist is identical or not, since they are both live.

One more thought.....I hope these concerts are overwhelmingly sucessful....so that Adam will consider doing more during this pandemic

I loved seeing the streaming comments off to side before the show. He has fans from all over the world!

Mi Re La said...

Adam was fantastic, incredible, wonderful. The voice was inhuman and the clothes the hair the make up perfection. The only thing I didn't like was the ring from his nose.
I managed to record the whole concert very well. I don't know what to do, if I post it on youtube I wonder if it bothers Adam. What do you advise me?

Angeladam said...

Great performance by Adam, he looked great wasn’t expecting him to sing so many ‘older’ songs, thought it would have been mostly from Velvet album, but what a joy to hear some of my favourites , thoroughly enjoyed it Thank you Adam and Happy Birthday xx

broddybounce said...

Mi Re La, out of respect I certainly wouldn't post it today, especially since Adam is counting on ticket sales for this evenings performance. I do suspect that when people do post the concert that someone's going to take it down — whether that's Adam's management company or NoCap, the company that presented this. I might be wrong, but I have a feeling that this will end up on Blu-ray and DVD and maybe paid streaming later.

Mi Re La said...

Thanks broddybounce for the advice. In no case did I want to put it on Youtube today, I was thinking in a few days. Because I still don't know what Adam wants to do with this concert, I'll just keep it for myself.

Nanbert said...

Haha....MiReLa....you gave away my secret. I was waiting to discuss it after the second concert is over. Oh well, with Adam we have to be "flexible"....right?

Not too long before my 2nd concert....can't wait!

Nanbert said...

Well...Adam's second concert is over. He was superb, as usual. It was obvious that the two performances were both live and separate....and well worth seeing each time. In fact, I wish I could access them again whenever I want to on youtube.

Fingers crossed that Adam decides to put the concerts on a DVD. What a varied selection he presented!....showing all the beauty, subtlety and power of his extraordinary vocals.

MiReLa...the secret of mine that you "gave away" after the first concert was that neither of us liked the small ring in Adam's nose....which, however, I became completely accustomed to by the end of the concert....showing I've been an Adam fan for a long time! I don't think that he was wearing it in his second concert....or, had I been so brainwashed by then as to no longer notice it? Oh my!

Nanbert said...

Glamberts.....Gelly just posted Adam's second concert on Youtube. Here's the link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WqgXxRcAJI

She also posted the 1st concert, and I posted it here, but guess I forgot to publish it!

Nanbert said...

Glamberts....I see Gelly has already posted Adam's 1st concert on Youtube....here's the link.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-ONdMOSlXQ

Don't know how long this will be available, since usually when something like this happens, it is quickly removed for copyright reasons or somesuch. Maybe not with this, because it's from Gelly?

MiReLa...looks like Gelly beat you to it.

I didn't see the second show but I'm catching glimpses of what he wore. Love that suit! I liked the caftan-y thing in the first show but it seemed a bit awkward and he had to fuss with it a little. Anyway, no biggy. He sounded fantastic and from what I hear already he was just as good in the evening. I loved those particular arrangements of The Original High (although I wish he had thrown in at least one glory note, but he kept it more low-key), A Loaded Smile (SO sexy and sultry and sad), Runnin' (finally!) and Chokehold (one of my faves). Loved his mix of old and new. And of course, Sleepwalked, which is a fan favorite.

I thought it was cool that he ended the show with Music Again. That song was the first track on the FYE album. So it was a kind of full circle.

I wish now that I had bought both shows, but I know both of them will show up in various ways.

Dee R Gee said...

Just saw both show on YouTube. They may not be up there very long. LOVE that suit! He looks like he may have been working out a bit. Looks great to me!

Brian and Roger said they'd be watching the show. Hope they did. I think they are probably not familiar with most of Adam's catalog. I hope they were impressed. Some of Adam's song would work well in a QAL show, IMO.

Nanbert said...

I enjoyed Adam's "Starman" in his birthday show even more than in his Bowie Tribute. And I never even cared for that song before!....probably because I never cared much for Bowie's voice. Adam can light-up any song!

Yes, Dee R Gee, I loved watching him sing "Music Again". It always makes me remember what an apt description that was for the effect his voice has had on me.
