Super legendary actor & rock star, Meat Loaf (real name: Michael Lee Aday), has sadly passed at the truly much too young age of 74.  He created a treasure trove of iconic performances, both in acting and in singing, and is lovingly revered by rock & pop music fans, as well as movie fans, and will be greatly missed.

As we all know, there is a real and distinct connection between Meat and Adam Lambert.  These tweets and videos tell it all.

FLASHBACK: Adam played Eddie in the Fox version of Rocky Horror Picture Show in 2016 — the role originated by Meat Loaf!

UPDATE: Current ET piece: Adam & Meat Loaf, re. Rocky Horror:

So cool to know that Brian and Mr. Loaf worked together from time to time. The world is full of interesting connections!

omg, Adam got lots of exposure during Entertainment Tonight's coverage of Meatloaf. Clips of the both as Eddie in Rocky Horror Picture Show.. Niiice!

I was hoping that would happen. It's sad to lose ML. But it's nice that Adam is getting some good exposure by association. All to the good.

Off topic, new to me. I'm glad I ran across it on twitter. Nile, Avicii and Adam.

Patria....off topic with you. Adam performing "Lay Me Down" at the Avicii Tribute concert...a Master Class!

Did you know that Adam co-wrote this song with Nile and Avicii?

Thank you both! LMD is one of Adam's best performed songs. When he sings LMD, Shady and Fever as a set, it's one of the best moments in his solo shows.

I do know that, Nanbert. I believe they called Adam in because they were stuck on how to bring it all together. They called the right man.

Correct Patria.... Adam went in with a hangover...and they still recorded it in one session. I love those collaborations, and I bet the artists do too. It makes a definite connection/friendship/camaraderie among them, and, I suspect, enhances and enriches each artists "palette". A good example of that is the performance and interaction between Adam, Brian and Roger on tour. Each brings out the best in the others, IMO. Fingers crossed we'll have the opportunity to witness a lot more of that!

For the record...I ran across a REALLY GREAT National Anthem rendition by Meat Loaf in 1994 in Pittsburgh that belongs here, and everywhere.... in memoriam for him.

Beautifully sung...no frills, no ruffles....just a straightforward, honest rendition by a fine male voice.
I had no idea he had THAT voice!

Perfection! Thank you Nanbert

Last, but not least, I just read that Meatloaf died of COVID-19! Surprisingly, for a career singer, he had asthma, which must have made him especially vulnerable to COVID.

I still don't understand why so many people have chosen the 'I will not get the covid vaccine' hill to die on.

Watch out for that Omicron varient of COVID-19!....my son and his family just got it, and they are the most OCD people you'll find about being careful! They haven't a clue how/where they got it. Fortunately, they had had the two original shots, plus the booster, so their cases haven't been severe. Just hope they don't have a version of the "long COVID" linger on.
