I never doubted it for a second. Adam was ON FIRE in St. Augustine! And the crowd was, too. What an amazing concert! His vocals are as strong as sharp as ever. And he moved around the stage like a panther. The word certainly got out that this show was not to be missed. What a successful tour this turned out to be. And Atlanta should be a magnificent finale.

Except, sadly, one song when Adam was out of lip-sync with the background vocals, and was unable to re-sync with it. VERY distressing!...and I tried to find it again today, but can't now. It was like he was unprepared for that song. Don't even remember what song it was. It was just in the group of videos here from St. Augustine. Maybe I missed finding it second time around, or maybe it was removed from Youtube...or altered/replaced (if that's possible).

I even hate to bring it up! But did anyone else see that? I'm sure there have been remarks about it somewhere...it was so upsetting!

Nanbert, I listened intently to all the songs that Adam sang in St. Augustine. I did not notice in any song the problem you signal. I don't think Adam ever did lip-sync.
Adam always sings a little differently to any song and so it can be seen that he doesn't do lip-sync. Of course he has a pilot band in the background because he doesn't have backing vocals and he needs that.
Nanbert, you may have seen a recording that was out of sync because the person who posted it made some changes.
What I didn't like about this mini tour was that he sang far too many cover songs and made the concert look like a karaoke show. Adam has a lot of beautiful songs. I can even say that I like all. Even if of course Adam sings beautifully any song I would prefer at his concert to hear the songs from his albums.
And another problem that I might be criticized for mentioning is that I don't understand why Adam doesn't make an effort to get back to his pre-pandemic appearance. He still looks very chubby. Of course, Adam is getting older, but a lot of artists at his age don't look so bloated.
I'm turning 60 soon and I don't have a belly as big as Adam's because I'm always doing sports. I think Adam can afford a personal nutritionist and a personal trainer to improve his appearance. Extremely many critical comments and jokes about his appearance have started to be on internet

Mi Re La, I know that as soon as we issue a review on Adam the fans get their claws out. But I'm having a hard time understanding what happened to Adam since late 2019. That's when he started getting fat. For someone as concerned about his appearance and his health as Adam, I can't explain his current appearance. Is it a physical or psychological health concern? In the middle of a concert this week he jokes that he was there to lose weight, the following evening he says that he is very happy. I was a little worried for him and wondered if he was okay but he said he was happy and content. I hope that's true and that he's doing what's best for him.

Nanbert, try as I might, I cannot find the song you refer to where the sync was off. It all sounded fine to me.

As for his weight issue, I have witnessed lots of comments about it and have even taken part. Adam admits that he has always struggled with weight. His gain since 2019 could be due to a number of things. I think he has lost quite a bit in the past months. He looks fine to me. Also, if I look at a photo of myself from three or four years ago, I looked younger than I do now. Adam is allowed to get older. He's forty, not twenty. He said in an interview that he has had to be very hard on himself over the years to control his weight. I love the guy for his voice and personality. People's looks change. Nobody looks young forever. Enjoy the music and this guy who is a real gift to us.

I am really grateful to watch the many videos from the fans who were at Adam’s concerts. I had my heart set to go to Tampa’s show but I wasn’t really prepared for it either. So my thanks to those fans who shared with the rest of us who couldn’t attend!

Nanbert I watched the same videos as you and I never saw Adam lip-sync or out of sync. Maybe what happened is that the video was edited or delayed? You know due to those annoying copyright issues. It was pointed out that some of the video reactors on YouTube have purposely delayed their videos by seconds to avoid problems with YouTube.

Mi Re La and BettyC, If you ask me Adam has been to many birthday parties these past months and the drinking well adds calories. So I blame the alcohol for his added weight. Lol. Now I think he hasn’t been doing much his hikes either ( has been very busy) and that was great exercise. Believe you me I surely could do with more exercising myself. Lol. I think once QAL start performing he’ll bring down some of his weight, and maybe not wear oversized clothing. I confess I miss the thinner Adam (I can’t lie) but for the moment he looks good and if he shaved his face would look thinner (sorry Adam not a fan of beards or mustaches). I don’t think he will let his weight get out of hand, he needs to keep doing those sexy moves! 🕺🥰

Sunflower LOL he parties a lot and goes out a lot. The friends he hangs out with all the time haven't put on weight. Since the end of 2019 he has changed even in his way of dressing. More eccentric than fashion as before. But in his last concerts he says he's fallen in love, he promises he's happy. In short, I don't want to be accused of body shaming😂. I just want him happy.

Well, in a sense I am relieved that the section I mentioned can't be located. It must have been removed, edited out or whatever. I DID finally locate the video that it had occurred on...near the end as I remember...because I found the brief upset comment I had made below it on Youtube....which is still there.

As far as Adam's extra weight is concerned...if he's not going to lose it, he could certainly wear more flattering styles... Snazzy suits look better on him now. He's nice and tall...and still well-built and handsome...just a tad overweight. He looked great in the outfits he wore for "Starstruck", although I didn't see all the sessions.

Well, after all this Covid hiatus in our lives... I also have to lament the extra 15+ pounds I've put on....but I'm not a worldwide superstar with a fabulous voice and great physicality to go along with it. 40 is YOUNG! Is COVID + enforced seclusion + Tequila the problem? At least two of those are resolving.

Maybe all it will take now is "getting back on the horse" to cheer Adam up and help him re-find the great Joy and Sense of Humor that he so wonderfully always performs with. His voice is still improving, if possible, and getting richer/fuller as we watch!...often almost operatic! He can sing ANYTHING!

Can't wait for the QAL tour!!!! Adam loves performing with Brian and Roger. And we all love watching him do it!

Sorry...I'm much too long-winded, as usual. So much for my New Year's resolution!

As a fan, I'm a long-hauler. It would take a lot more than weight-issue for me to no longer be a fan. We see rock stars who have been performing for decades. They can still do it. Do they look like they did 30-40 years ago? Nope. But many of them can still deliver the goods. Adam doesn't fit into a traditional mold. I don't expect him to. It's why I'm a fan.

Well said, Dee R Gee. Ditto!

Dee R.Gee It doesn't mean I'm not a fan of Adam if I express my dissatisfaction with the way he looks. I'm just upset that Adam, who is attentive to the smallest details when he appears in public, still ignores this extra weight that is very visible when he appears on stage. Aging does not have to be accompanied by weight gain. I think the best example for Adam is Brian and Roger who still look great on the body. It is very important when you are a star to take care to age beautifully. It doesn't bother anyone a few wrinkles on the face and a little gray hair is really sexy, especially for a man, but the extra weight affects the ability to move on stage and to control your breathing, especially when you are a front man.

I think a little criticism is good for everyone because it makes you mobilize. Ignoring some problems does not solve them.
I think that when you love someone even more you have to tell them what you think is wrong with them.
Brian May, for example, does many hours of training and that's why at the age of 84 he can give 2-hour concerts for many weeks in a row.

Mi Ré La Brian May is 74 years old. And yes he and Roger look great.
You're right. A little criticism never hurt. I just hope Adam doesn't have a health issue he doesn't want to talk about. He is only 40 years old, very young. His appearance has nothing to do with age.

Mi Re La said...

BettyC, you're right, I mistyped Brian's age. I was thinking at Paul McCartney, who will soon be 80 years old and who continues to look great. There are countless examples of stars who are over 70 years old and who have enviable bodies. I hope Adam has no health problems that make him look so bloated.

Dee R Gee said...

Brian May has been naturally thin his whole life. Paul McCartney is about 5'9" or so, has a fairly small frame and has never had weight issues either.

Adam is 6'1" on a large, broad=shouldered, broad-chested frame. And he has struggled with weight for years. Everyone's body is not the same.

I'm giving him a break.
