Today's dance craze
Putting active artists like Green Day and Nine Inch Nails aside, Chic may be the most relevant act of this year's nominees when it comes to contemporary music. Electronic dance music is as popular as it's ever been with many of today's acts like David Guetta, Adam Lambert, Disclosure, Black Eyed Peas and Avicii citing Chic as an influence. Rodgers was actually featured on several tracks off of Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, last year's Grammy winner for Album of the Year. It's doesn't get more relevant than that.

Very cool mention!!
Like another 'oldie but goodie' Chic has been rocking the world since the 70s. That was the Classic Rock decade.
I know that because those were the years I was pounding on my teenagers doors yelling "turn that down"!

In defense? Who would be more deserving to the R & R Hall of Fame after all these years than Chic, still going strong!

LOL Green Day already has plenty deserving of being in the RRHF.
Why is it always anything related to Adam is more deserving and others should wait or don't count with so many of the commenters here? Adam is never like that. There is room for many.

I'm not really sure what your comment means, to be honest.. The article wasn't written by an Adam Lambert fan.. It was written by a CHIC fan.. Adam was mentioned in passing.. None of the comments I see written here on this thread were Adam-centric comments that I can see. They were discussing the merits of CHIC.
The author was lamenting the fact that CHIC has been passed over many times for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is wondering why that continues to happen.. Good points I think.
We here may be avid Adam Lambert fans but we also have heard, and certainly may have been fans of (many, or at least some...) bands and artists in addition to Adam.. He's a relative newcomer, whereas CHIC has been around for many many years, has had a very strong impact on music over the years, (and via Nile Rogers, still does have a current impact as well), and perhaps deserves the honor just as much as so many of the other classic acts who have been honored by being inducted already.. I didn't see the article dissing the other bands mentioned, so much as puzzling over "WHY not CHIC too"?"
I agree, there is room for many... The point is that they deserve it.. and not because Adam got a mention in the article..
Absolutely agree GL. I have to ask a question to you. Is BBCA different from BBC1 I used to get. I think. If so need check with dish about if its different or will not get it. To Glitzy Lady. Sue
