Digital Spy: Adam Lambert: 'There's no reason for the music industry to be scared of gay popstars anymore'

While Adam Lambert is happy that attitudes
towards LGBT+ music acts are rapidly changing, he's added that industry
gatekeepers need more convincing.
The singer - who became the first openly gay artist to hit No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart with his album Trespassing
back in 2012 - says that recent success stories mean the industry is
slowly becoming more comfortable with artists expressing their true
sexual identities.
"I
think there have been a lot of things in general that have shifted
within the LGBT community and mainstream acceptance," Adam told Digital Spy.

I realize that there have been dedicated, hard-working LGBT advocates for many decades. But as a part of the "new wave" of gay rights activists, Adam has made quite an impact. He has talked the talk and walked the walk.
