Adam Lambert's Hometown San Diego concert sold out in minutes!

If you didn't buy your tickets to Adam Lambert's San Diego concert on July 30, you're out of luck.

Within minutes of the tickets going on sale last Saturday, all 2,200 seats at Copley Symphony Hall were gone. Tickets can still be had if you're willing to pay a premium. On craigslist.com, enterprising ticket-sellers are asking about three to four times the face value of the tickets (between $100 and $150 per ticket).

Lambert, who grew up in Rancho Penasquitos before heading to the bright lights of L.A., has sold out virtually every stop of his 50-city summer tour, which began last weekend in Pennsylvania and continues through September.

Fans and music writers have lamented online that judging by the quick sellouts of Lambert's concerts this summer, his management could have afforded to book him into larger venues. But in an interview last week, Lambert's father, Eber Lambert of San Diego, said that the goal with his son's first solo tour was to plan conservatively and add dates as needed, depending upon demand.

The management underestimate Adam's popularity & his tremendous talent to attracts large crowd. I spent many hours trying to book his concerts before it sold out or end up on the scalpers hand. There was one point where my heart was beating so fast that I could hear it. And my hands was shaken so much that I press the wrong key, the whole transaction was gone. I curse at myself so hard you think I am mental.

Adam is already pushed to the limit for his first tour doing--I think-- 70 concerts so far. That's a bunch. He can't be everywhere, so fans just might have to pay a premium and might have to travel. Somehow, I think it's worth it.

Please come to Vancouver or near there, Adam. Maybe during the international tour?

Well, I guess the question about DEMAND has been answered in a big way...DUH!! The conservative approach was UMMMMMMM, stupid!! Sorry guys but it seems you still don't know what you have a hold of here!! Didja watch the audiences last Summer??? Dooya read the daily blogs and note the crowds at meet and greets?? Apparently not! We can only hope that the grueling schedule of trying to please everybody does not damage his beautiful voice. Yah, he's got the heart and energy and drive for a thousand performances but even amazing vocal cords have their limits!! Take Denver for ex. - 1870 seats for a city and surrounding area in excess of 2 million - sold out instantly! No, we don't want him to add exhausting performances- just come back next year and book Pepsi Center, Invesco, Red Rocks or something that reflects his popularity and our passion for him. OK???

So happy for Adam! His hometown loves him.

Hope the continuing news of his selling out his dates, combined w/ the release of IIHY video soon, compels those damn radio stations to start spinning IIHY. I know it's a gradual process, but I'd feel better if at least some of AL's previously supportive stations were at least airing IIHY a little more. Well anyway... I have tix to one large venue at Foxwoods CT and one small venue in Massachusetts... and after reading this latest post, I'm not complaining ONE LITTLE BIT about the less than stellar seats!! Got them at regular price too... gosh I'm lucky!

I get your thinking but you can't do anything conservatively with THE MASTER PERFORMER!Adam is NOT an ordinary performer! He is just beginnning, yes, but in great demand already. Just wait til next year...Any available tickets will be so difficult to find! That's why I am going to as many concert venues as possible this year. It will probably be the last chance to see him up close and personal. Once others find out what WE already know About Adam It will be impossible to even catch a glimpse of him!

I was SO lucky to be in the front row for Adam at Fantasy Springs and 2nd row for both his intimate (900 seats!) venues in Vancouver. Now it is a complete challenge to score any face value tickets at all to any of his venues - they get snapped up right at 10 am on Ticketmaster! I do think his tour planners did not anticipate just how popular his concerts would be; I have no doubt that in future larger venues will be a given! Looking forward to the OC / SFO and Sacramento concerts; more pure joy!

Anybody out there know about some Texas dates? Please.......we need to know!!!

Adam, we need you!!!
Freakin out in San Antonio!!

I think the scalpers still have plenty of tickets. The good thing is Adam will get credit for selling out the venue, but there may be some empty seats if fans can't afford to pay 300. for a 35. ticket. I paid 65. and not even a reserved seat.I tried the password at 10am in Charlotte the first day and could not get a ticket. I had to go to Stubhub. There has to be a better way. I would at least be willing to pay more for a reserved seat. funbunn40

I heard Adam say to someone who called in to KISS 108 that they are going to Texas so" maybe" that is still in the works. I hope so!
I have tickets to Foxwoods,Cohasset and Hyannis - Got frozen out of the presale - but got them on Stubhub. I talked to a woman who works in entertainment at Foxwoods and she said they had so many calls that they could have sold it out for the week! I CAN'T WAIT for my dates! (may add New Hampshire too. I am bringing friends who haven't seen him perform "live in concert". I know they will be NEW FANS for SURE-share the LOVE- bring a friend(if you can get tickets that is)

I'm sorry but I would not have gone to a bigger venue. I am going to 2 venues "because" they are under 2000. When it gets too big---I'm out. It dilutes the intimacy for me and I believe Adam needs to be seen close-up and the concert goer needs to be surrounded by his sights and sounds. No big screens in a super arena for me!

well first, ALL his shows sell out in minutes and while I do understand the frustration level and think Adam could have sold out way bigger places I also agree with anonymous who said they would not go to bigger places. I think making the shows physically and financially accessible ($42 tix)was smart cuz it did bring in certain people who would not do larger places including more casual fans, I ran into such people, who really didn't know him beyond WWFM on the radio but were curious and wanted a night out and now I can only assume they are big fans, I mean how can you see him perform live and not be blown away?
next concert will be arena so get these tix while you can

I also like the intimacy of the smaller venues to see him closer and I think he likes the connection of his fans, to be able to see the expressions on their faces. It' what he has always been used to and this may be the last time for us to really see him. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Grab your tickets! At the next tour, he'll be a speck in the distance. funbunn40

Hmmm. This will be my first time seeign Adam live,. I wonder how many people saw Adam in the Idol tour also seeing him this summer. Also wonder -- if the choice had to be made how many would see Adam versus Idol tour this summer...

so glad I have tix to the Cohassett Mass venue - don't know if we'll get lasers and such due to venue, but w/ the intimacy of it, I'm sure we'll go so much more. Would have bought tix to Hyannis Mass too but my other half would have killed me as we're also going to Foxwoods... but anyway, yes, soon he may be just a spec in the distance at arena shows... here's hoping anyway!

Here's an article relevant to this thread that I just found:

http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=939995

article talks about moving venues due to set being too large... but I bet more seating won't hurt either :)

First of all, you are in for the ultimate experience seeing Adam live for the first time! Saw Adam at last year's Idol Tour (the only reason I went...) have seen him at two other wonderful small venues earlier this year, and absolutely, no question, ONLY Adam concerts this summer, no Idol tour for me this year....!
And yes, LOVE those small venues, its so obvious the next time around most of us will need binoculars to see him! I am thrilled to say I have a 1st row seat at one of the two concerts I'll be going to his summer (the other is GA), but as someone else said, probably won't be able to afford one in his future tours. He is best experienced in those intimate venues, just won't be the same....But am so happy for his success!!!! He's sort of been my little "secret and guilty pleasure" but soon the world will embrace him and I'll just have to share!

Well said Adam's Dad, Eber!! BUT Adam is just in too much demand for such small venues and a lot of US fans can't get tickets. Though I think US fans are really lucky and overall nice ppl, I also think you complain a lot..'cause in Europe we have to buy tickets at 100$ even if it's a small venue..if the price is under that value then either you're in for a music festival or the artist isn't that good. But I understand that not everyone can afford such high priced tickets, but isn't Adam worth it?
Have fun and enjoy your summer with the GlamNationTour, US fans!

Hi Gina! So glad you're coming to Charlotte July 2nd and I would love to see you too! I lived in Coral Springs, Fl. for 13 years and still have 2 daughters there. It's near Ft. Laud. and Boca Raton. I'm going with my son. Bought my glitter polish today! You can email me at funbunn40@aol.com for more info. I'm trying to get more info on layout of the Fillmore. I had never heard of it and there isn't any seating map posted. to get back to topic, I went to Idol in Charlotte mainly to see Adam and think majority of audience went for the same reason. It was great! Not interested in this years idols, so won't go, but I wish them well. Adam is just too hard of an act to follow.

Not just his home town loving him Maria, some of us (like me!) are coming in from other states to see the San Diego show! : )
