'If I Had You' makes small jump on airplay chart

Adam Lambert fans have reason to smile on Sunday -- "If I Had You" is now another step closer to an airplay chart milestone. In new newest numbers released via Mediabase on Sunday, the third single off of "For Your Entertainment" has found a way to rise three spots on the charts to #34.

In terms of spins, Adam is up 197 to 1263 -- which is around a 19% increase for the week. Will he need more substantial gains to ultimately lead into the top 30? Probably so, but given the songs around him he could very well move up two or three more spots next week even at the same pace.

The music business seems so strange. How do you get stations to play songs other than requests. If station management refuses to play, what then? It's like you have to have a popular song to get spins, but you have to have spins to get popularity. Too political for me. Catch 22 anyone?

true- seems like more dj's have jumped on the Adam train though, some dj's still won't play Adam's music, he has a few "hurdles" he has to jump. IIHY is continuing to climb, and WWFM is ready to be released in the UK

Yea, why would they be afraid to play Adams music or are they just corrupted..

I’d hope we just keep requesting to our top 40 and adult contemporary stations. Song has a great baseline- hope that means the club DJs will pick it up too.

I finally heard it on Sirius My Hits 1 as a breakout hit. He has been winning the vote every week.
Keep requesting at all the radio stations.

KEEP REQUESTING!!!! VOTE ON THE LINKS TO STATIONS TOP 40 0R TOP 20

SIRIUS VOTE ON TOP 20

If IIHY gets to #30 and it should soon, then RatetheMusic will put in on their top 40 survey, which DJ's look at. Register as a member of Ratethe Music, it's easy and you can vote in their Top 40 survey each week, WWFM is on their Hot Adult Contemporary and Adult Contemporary surveys

@Anon July 11 3:14 - I agree, the RatetheMusic suggestion is a great one!

And a lot of the time, most times I think, it really isn't the DJ's - it's the Program Directors decisions, regarding these things...

And Anon 3:14 mentioned the HAC and AC charts - we should probably continue to request WWFM because WWFM could do very well as a big song for 2010 overall on those charts.

IIHY is not yet on powerplay in my country. I think that 30 Seconds of Mars new single gets airplay a couple of times instead of Adam. FYE still gets airplay. FYE, WWFM and IIHY alltogether 3-7 times a day per hitmusic station is ok.

Sorry, I meant 30 Seconds to Mars. FYE is a classic album, it's songs will be played 10 years from no on. Older hits from Robbie Williams are played all the time.

As MGF said, The program directors may have the last word on who is played.I would guess their decisions are also influenced by the advertisers who still are upset about AMA performance and consumer pressure. The bottom line with them is usually money. funbunn40

I would love to see Adam on Glee and have a huge confrontation with Sue, burying her with his sweetness and logic. He has such good comedic timing! SNL is another one that I had been hoping for, but I think Iread that he doesn't want to be in gay skits as, that's not his focal point as an entertainer. I wouldn't want to see the AMA resurrected. They could, however do something regarding Adam's passionate fans that could really be funny! Any other ideas? Wish they would play Voodoo on Adam's fave, True Blood and give him a great part! funbunn40
