NEITHER hard work nor will power can turn Tom Cruise’s voice into the steely pipes of Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, Dennis DeYoung, Peter Cetera or Adam Lambert—that’s simply a scientific impossibility, because an exceptional voice is a special gift more than an instrument acquired through rigorous training.
I do detect a little tension in Adam re Simon Cowell, like Simon is the eternally disapproving school master. I know Simon's remark about Ring of Fire was probably something Adam didn't appreciate, but it was good TV. I hope Adam understands that. It is tough to go your own way sometimes, and Adam has to bear that burden, but I don't think he is going to regret it.
102.7 KIIS-FMþ@1027KIISFM Let's get this friday started by giving away a pair of tix to see @adamlambert!! @JoJoWright has your tix coming up next! Details at 8:15pm!
Tune into 102.7 KIIS FM right now. JoJo has a pair tickets for you to see @adamlambert.
So cool that ADAM is getting some press in a kind of sideways way with the reviews of Rock of Ages. What a compliemnt it is to have him grouped with such great rock singers! He's made an important mark so early in his career, too! I hope Adam knows about these commments about him.
Can't wait for Behind the Music and 10 On Top! Lots of watch and listen to in AdamLand1
I found myself feeling so sad for Adam when he was talking about his adolescent years and the lonlieness he experienced but, as he said, it made him a stronger individual. Again, I hope young people who feel that they are outsiders with no friends can hear Adam's words and know that .. it does get better. I love Adam Lambert for so many reasons, but especially for his courage and honesty against so much hate and adversity. Can't wait to see him 7/19 in OC - got great seats and have booked a hotel for the night! Yippee!
OT - am wondering if Adam will find time to perform 'Shady' with Nile Rodgers, since Nile is also in London and has tweeted Adam about this more than once. Sam Sparro responded to a tweet from Nile about wanting to be there also. That would certainly be EPIC!
@8:56 I'm so happy for you and all the worldberts out there that are getting to see adam in all these promo's, free concerts ect ect. He sure is busy. Just wish he would come to fla!!!
I think ADAM is passed whatever bad feeling he might have with that comment from Simon Cowell because after all, Simon has been proven wrong about that. That rendition of ROF is one of the best in AI and I dare anyone of the AI alum try to sing it like ADAM did. Nobody, just nobody can with that vocal perfection of delivery and all the hotness that went with that performance. It's a classic by now. Some critics put it up there at the very top as the best ever.
Also, I'm one of those who really think Simon saw something in ADAM from his audition. Just go back and look how he was gazing at him intently up & down. ADAM is someone you can't ignore. And Simon is someone who can spot a star in the making.
And I feel that comment about being theatrical at the onset is Simon's way of leading ADAM in the right direction how to go far and win. He was trying to put ADAM in the right place. To me, it was a constructive criticism for the good of ADAM, not a put down.
And Simon has been interviewed even after the season has ended that ADAM should have won. His last words that season was that AI has found a worldwide superstar in ADAM. And he truly is.
JAK here......did everyone's heart break a little when Adam said he had no one to sit with in the lunchroom? OUCH, mine did. And I flashed back and saw the faces again of the kids that I remember sat at tables alone, no group of non stop talkers like most of the tables. If I could live those days over, I would gather all those lonely kids up and plop them down at my table of chatterboxes.
I don't believe Adam was ever upset by any of Simon's cracks, he'd been around in the business for long enough to have developed a thick skin. Besides, Simon paid him a lot of compliments during that season (sincere ones, not the gushing froth of todays group of judges on Am Idol) which is as my grandmother would say "hogwash".
@ Cathy....I agree that Simon recognized Adam's true potential.
9:57, I have also been thinking that the Graham Norton show would be a perfect time for Nile, Sam and Adam to perform Shady together. It's one of my absolute favorites on the album. The interview of Adam on that show should be great, too. Wherever those three perform that song, it will be so much fun.
I've heard ADAM say it before that he had no friends in school which broke my heart then. But giving us this scenario now that he has no one to sit with at lunch time really got me misty-eyed again.
Back in the days in school, I was always the type who would go out of my way to befriend or get close to someone who has no friends or looks lonely or weird. Both my younger sister and brother are the same. We feel compassion for the unpopular ones and bring them home to meet our mother who would feed them with gusto.
We were known in the neighborhood as the most well-behaved and respectful kids to anyone. We grew up being told all men are created equal as always quoted by my father whose hero was Abraham Lincoln.
This is the very reason I'm a loyal devoted fan of ADAM because I see the person my parents wanted us to be. He is respectful, kind and most of all humble.
I also heard him say that he has never really been in trouble because he was truly a good kid and afraid to step out of the boundaries. It's why I admire Eber and Leila for ADAM's upbringing.
He makes his parents PROUD as well us fans. What a delight to be his fan for life, it's a joy to my heart.
My thoughts about "Runnin" As a former tour athlete, I can tell you that this song (Runnin) is every aspiring athlete's story. I can envisioning Adam singing Runnin' at the Olympics with Queen. OMG, it will become an inspiring anthem like "We Are the Champions" -- I can also see the video in my mind's eye now! Let's PLEASE urge the Brits to accept a US citizen (Adam) performing with Queen at their Olympics. Beverly
JAK here.....next on my "can't wait for" list is the Graham Norton show. IF Adam,Nile and Sam did Shady on the show I might need to have B.P. cuff handy and my emergency Kickin In meds available just in case my heart should decide to die of happiness.

As Adam Shankman, the director of ROCK of AGES stated: No other singer does that (can wail) except ADAM LAMBERT!
ADAM's Behind The Music will be on VH1 tonight at Midnight ET / 11 PM CT.
ADAM is also on MTV's 10 On Top tomorrow at 11:30 AM ET.

I'm crossing my fingers that ADAM with Nile Rodgers perform SHADY at the Graham Norton Show on June 22. Hope Sam Sparro can join as well.
Adam's so cute :)
honest & funny always!!!
love him & what an amazing voice!

Sometimes we are late in learning life lessons.
