Adam Lambert to guest judge on American Idol!!

American Idol announced today via Twitter that Adam Lambert will be stepping in for Keith Urban to judge the American Idol New York auditions. They tweeted, “Adam Lambert will be serving as guest judge at the NY auditions. Our thoughts are with Keith and his family during this difficult time.”
Although this is an exciting opportunity for Adam, it comes due to sad circumstances. Keith Urban is taking some time off from judging Idol while grieving the death of Nicole Kidman’s father. Kidman’s father died unexpectedly this weekend while traveling in Singapore.
Adam is an obvious choice to step in at the last minute to help out American Idol. He has been a mentor in the past and is known to be a huge draw to the show. He was spot on with his observations while mentoring, and knows from his own experience what the judges are looking for in a contestant.

Many have said for years that he would be the perfect judge, and there have been rumors that he was being considered as a judge in the past. Two years ago MTV speculated that Adam was a contender for a judging spot, however that never came to fruition. Adam has also expressed his interest in being a judge for the hit television show that catapulted his own career. In 2012 he told Hollywood Reporter, “"Where do I sign?" when asked if he would be interested in being a judge on the show. It looks like it finally come true, even though it is temporary.

Adam will always be a part of American Idol, regardless the pitfalls. Adam has always been grateful to AI who was literally his last resort opportunity to break into the music industry in a big way; though he would not have in his wildest dream seen it sooo big as being a worldwide phenomenon. I advocated him to be the AI chief judge a couple of years back; but what proceeded after not being picked for that position...more than exceeded my expectations, especially QAL which might have been thwarted if indeed Adam became the AI chief judge, as it might have interfered with the QAL early planning stages.
Okay now looking forward to see Adam in new action as stand-in AI judge. Adam is like the octopus with multiple tentacles; can stand in and work wonders in a lot of different scenarios...as the saying goes: Jack of all trades...oh but, Master of one! See, he even got a proverb changed. lol!

I just read the extract posted and quite shocked that Dr Kidman died in Singapore. RIP, so sorry.
