‘American Idol’ season 14 spoilers: Adam Lambert to fill in for grieving Keith Urban!

Fox confirmed today for the upcoming auditions that are taking place in the New York area, season 8 superstar Adam Lambert will be coming in to fill the role of guest judge. Keith Urban and his wife Nicole Kidman are currently mourning the loss of her father, and Adam is filling in here at the last minute. Our thoughts are certainly with the two of them.
As a judge, we definitely have the utmost confidence that Adam will do a great job. He’s done a guest role like this on numerous shows over the years, and he was on it just this past season as a mentor for many contestants before the start of the live shows. He knows not only what it takes to be a star on this show, but also how to make the most of your moments. We never saw it with him being a case of just trying to win a talent show; he was trying to build a brand and establish himself for many years to come. (At one point, there were even rumors that he would be a permanent judge.)
This also does keep a great streak going in regards to Adam being associated with the series. He has been present for the show in some way just about every year since he was first on it more than five years ago.

@adamlambert BEYOND excited that u will be in the room with us tomorrow being a judge on @AmericanIdol – So nice of u to fill in for Keith.
Adam will be the first idol alum to be a judge on the show. And maybe the only one.
Adam is sure to have a blast tomorrow! Woot!
Just woke up to this news!!! So excited!!! Even though we'll have to wait until early next year... Something to look forward to!
They have considered Adam before to be a judge, but it didn't pan out. I don't think it hurt even a little bit that their choice for this guest job, that Adam has become a super star, actually starting from him being on AI. Also his tour with Queen cannot be ignored, everyone recognizes that singing with Queen on a world tour was a huge gig for Adam
I think AI are finally coming around to seeing what a talented singer he is. It was good that he actually was free to take this on.
I am sure he is excited , NY, his favorite state.

Anne Marie, American Idol has always known what a talented singer and star Adam is. He was the first Idol to mentor. He is the first Idol now to judge. Adam has been on the show every season since season 8. American Idol doesn't need to come around, they have always known what a talent and draw Adam is.
So, Adam will be taping this episode this week and then it will show sometime in January or thereabouts, right? It sounds like the one episode. I sure wish it was MORE! I will definitely be watching. Still wish he had been chosen as a regular judge a few years back. But this current gig is great! I'm sure many AI viewers haven't been following him and now is his chance for a little A3 promotion, too. Maybe they'll choose him to "sub" again at some point. I know the show is the wane, but I'm gad he'll be on.
So sad to hear about the passing of Kieth Urban's father in law. That being said I'm very glad Adam will have this opportunity. And even though I can barely stand to look at Let alone listen to Harry C. I'll be watching to see Adam.
I am so glad that Adam was asked to the be a guest judge, at least for this segment of the pre-judging in NY. Curious if he was the first person they asked. I am glad that it is making a lot of news too. They say things come in 3's. 1st the honor of front man for Queen, 2nd the honor of being asked to be guest judge on AI. Will there be a 3rd honor for Adam in the near future?

Good news! Adam should have fun with this even if it is temporary. He remains loyal to AI whenever they ask him to appear. Michael Orland is a huge supporter of Adam...wonder if he suggested Adam for this spot?
I haven't posted here for at least 3weeks because I was out of the country and could not get proper Internet access:(((( I was miserable without my daily Adam fix and I missed all the great vids of the QAL tour since August 22nd!
I'm back in L.A. Now and very happy about that. I sure missed reading all your comments daily about what's going on in AdamLand:))))
I'll be spending time finding the concert vids and watching them with joy. What a spectacular tour and what a spectacular summer!

Panel of four judges would not be bad!
Don't think he will ever be a permanent judge on Idol cuz everyone would just want him to sing.....listening to anyone else and/or looking at anyone else would be sheer torture with Adam anywhere near the cameras and microphones!!!
