Adam’s Back!

A familiar face — and voice — will
be returning to Idol tonight when the indomitable Adam Lambert joins Jennifer
and Harry for Brooklyn auditions. This isn’t Adam’s first time back (he joined
Randy for a two-week “Boot Camp” in season XIII) but it does mark the first
time a former Idol contestant has sat at the judges’ table. Not too shabby!
Adam’s done some other stuff, too,
since his first “Bohemian Rhapsody” audition way back when...
— Recorded two Billboard-charting
albums
— Landed a Grammy nomination for
“Best Male Pop Vocal Performance” in 2011
— Toured with Brian May and the rest
of Queen in 2014
— Had his voice described as “like a
siren” by Pharrell Williams
Basically, the dude’s awesome. Tune
in to FOX at 8/7c to catch up with Adam and watch him critique the next
generation of Idol hopefuls!

Yea I got a glimpse of Adam advising a contestant on yesterday's episode and so will be tuned in for the Return of the AI Gladiator this evening as a judge sitting right smack in Randy's place. Also to watch his shimmering 'Mama' a-cappella; I saw that posted here, now on tv with a couple more rebroadcasts. He looks so handsome and well groomed, beautifully-tailored suit; so much so I had to imagine the rough and gruff original 'Mama' contestant numbered 1877, 6 years ago. lwl!
Might AI be paving the way for Adam to be on the judges' panel next season; because Mr Harry seems to be rather adamant about the fact only Adam can advise the contestants with real on-the-job experience. It will benefit Adam as he could once again use his favourite platform to sing his new album songs. But that is not Adam's first reason; he has always voiced his love for AI and wants to impart what he got from it to the contestants.
Just finished watching Idol and Adam was the best part of the show. Harry and JLO kept on saying how handsome he is and that is so true. I personally didn't see anyone with superstar qualities, but the auditions have just started. As has been said so often, Adam Lambert set the bar so high with his amazing vocal talent and his mesmerizing stage presence, that I find myself so often comparing the performances to his. Adam has certainly matured and looks so handsome and stylish in comparison to the young man we watched during Season 8. Reading about Adam's record deal with WB and the release of a single in April with the third album this summer along with watching him on Idol tonight, just made this very cold, windy day here in NJ so much better.
Adam did a great job. He was right on point. He looked so handsome in both suits!
Did anyone else think he seemed a bit shy or to be holding back at times? I love him no matter what! Just curious if anyone felt that too.
I thought Hollywood Anderson was the most tallented from NY but I agree no one with star quality or anywhere near the excitement that Adam brought.
I agree, 8:35.... I truly enjoyed listening to Hollywood Anderson... I could probably listen to an album of his. He seems fresh, eager, original and capable of some great songs.
And, I loved loved watching Adam! xoxoxo
(...I'll take more, please)
They could have just kept the camera on Adam all night! What a dream face. Love everything about him!
Did you notice how often the camera seemed to focus on Adam last night? And why not with that handsome face and killer smile. I loved when he became a contestant again and sang his audition song for Harry and JLo. He even seemed a bit nervous, but did an amazing job as usual. I agree that Hollywood Anderson was probably the best of the NYC contestants, but does he have what it takes to become the next Idol winner? Adam did bring a certain excitement to the stage each time he performed and for me, there has been no one who even comes close to his vocal talent and amazing stage presence.
@8:30, I felt he was holding back also. I suspect part of it is that he was the "new guy" and didn't yet have the rapport built with the other judges. Kind of the feeling I've had in the past when starting a new job. He seemed more comfortable later in the show. Co-workers were talking about him this morning. .. How much he changed, though in a good way.
