Voted...Adam is wa-a-ay ahead. It's supposed to be a month-long competition, but it says it's over on September 18...so we must just be finding out about it.

Couldn't find out how often we can vote, so I'll assume daily, and go back again tomorrow.

Everybody vote!

Usually at PopCrush you could vote several times giving a refresh. Now you can only once a day. This is just the first round.I hope Adam wins. He is clearly the king of fashion.

I think this is probably one of those supposed to last a month & then goes on forever polls .. lol!! I'm still voting on the other Pop Crush poll .. The Most Anticipated Tour of 2017 .. QAL won that months ago but I'm still voting .. as long as they count!! Went through the gallery & IMO they could have picked much nicer photos in some cases such as the Divas ... but ADAM still looked good in all of them!! So I guess I'll just add that to my daily voting list ... every vote counts!!

BTW ... here's an update on my therapy ... massage sessions every Wed. & Fri. ... elevated legs for 15min. every hr. ... they may apply light compression & wrap them ... I think Rose Petal said her husband has the same problem ... here's the hardest one of all for me ... Forget everyone else & concentrate on ME .. I've been taking care of everyone else & neglecting ME!! That's a hard thing for someone who has raised a large family to do .. I've been the care giver for 50+ years .. hard habit to break!! I'll probably drive everybody cuckoo but here goes!! LOL

Nice talking to you Glam Sister!! Have a great week!! TTYL .. Light 'n Love

Lambert Outlaw.... sounds like you're off to a good start. But I guess you've got to get used to acquiring a different state-of-mind.

No law says you have to be the PERFECT wife/mom/grandmom forever! It's time to drop the load and let others shoulder their share. They'll probably be relieved and happy to do so.

I had a friend with a similar situation..she had always "taken care of everyone", then became ill and needed to be cared for herself. She had so much difficulty adjusting, that her doctor suggested a therapist. What she discovered about herself was that she confused "taking care of everyone" to "being in control of everyone/thing". Once she realized that, she was able to make the transition..... and had the added bonus of release of family tensions, and closer relationships with everyone.

I'm not saying that is your problem, but it is worth exploring to achieve peace of mind... for others as well as yourself. Give your family/friends the GIFT of caring for and giving back to you.

So, dear Glam Sister, relax...let yourself be cared for and pampered...without guilt. Just
concentrate on YOU!....and get better!

Big Hugs!

Boy oh boy!! You know me almost as well as I know myself!! Even though I have my daughter-in-law (I hate that term) .. she seems like she's always been a part of our family ... even though she is willing to take on the chores, cooking, etc. ... I still have to go & check everything out after everyone has gone to bed to rearrange the cupboards and so forth!! I'm trying but some things take awhile to change!! Thanks for the lecture .. I needed that .. now I have to get ready .. my therapist is due in a half hour! She told me the exact same thing you have so you're in good company!! lol

Thanx!! again Glam Sister!! TTYL .. Light 'n Love

Lambert Outlaw....whew, I'm glad if I helped, rather than offended. I got worried after reading my comment later that I might have hurt your feelings...or been too much of a busy-body. Thanks for being receptive and understanding..

Your admission of "checking everything out after everyone has gone to bed, rearranging the cupboards, etc." is very insightful. Besides, people will discover what you're doing and get their feelings hurt and/or even feel secretly resentful. "Letting it go" will help everyone.

Wow, there I go again. Sorry, my Glam Sister. It's just that I feel very close to you, and find myself talking to you like a best-buddy, not an online acquaintence. I know you cannot be "cured", but you CAN be improved. And just being CONTENTED would be a big step towards a better life, don't you think?

So, "LET GO"...and take your meds! Luv ya!

P.S. Lambert Outlaw...Oops,
I meant your swollen legs cannot completely be cured....NOT your state of mind! LOL

I just remembered something Adam said about his need to be in control. He said 'Part of being in control is knowing when to surrender.'

Marielle...That's always good advice...for everyone.

You know what Sisters .. it's fast getting out of my hands .. sometimes I can barely make it to the powder room so my time in the kitchen seems to be getting more limited!! Now that the therapist is working on them .. I feel less able to stand very long & when I do I pay for it!! The shooting pains are horrid so I spend more time sitting & trying to follow the exercises I'm told to do. Really hard for me but I have found some of the lesions are opening & fluid is oozing .. not much .. just enough to be annoying .. I hope the wraps will help ... I know the beginning stages are the most difficult but sometimes I just want to give up & get a wheel chair! That's what we've been trying to avoid ... I hate the thought of relying on wheels instead of my own two legs to get around!!

Have no fear dear ladies .. I seldom take offense when given good advice & just the fact that you care enough to give me what-for means the world to me. There are those around me that don't even care to call & see how I'm getting along ... too close to me for it not to matter!! But life goes on & so will I as long as I have the Good Lord keeping me here!!

My grand daughter brought my great grandson & his baby sister over today!! What a couple of sweet cherubs they are!! I don't care about aches & pains when they're here ... those sweet faces light up my world .. so you see ... life is worth living & I'm going to continue trying my best to do just that from now on!! GOD Willing!!

Love you guys ... I'll keep you updated on my progress!! I'm a tough old bit_h .. we Italians don't give up so easy!! Thank you & GOD Bless you!! Light 'n Love

Lambert Outlaw... I KNOW what you mean about those close to you not calling or coming around..but give them a bit of slack...and help. I think of it as the "ostrich with its head in the sand" syndrome. They care SO much that they don't want to know how bad things are... or feel helpless and useless to help you.. They feel guilty being well and healthy when you are ill.

It's a combination of cowardice, guilt and "head-in-the-sandism" that keeps them out of touch....and the longer it continues, the worst they feel about themselves. I know, because I've been there, done that!...and it will plague ME for the rest of my life!

I suggest YOU BE THE ONE TO BREAK THE ICE. Call them, chat a bit, encourage them to drop by sometime... give them a small chore (a receipe, a friend's address, lend a book, etc.)

I bet you'll be surprised at how relieved they'll be that the "log-jam" is broken... and they won't feel they are "imposing" on you when you're not well. That you are still the "same" person, albeit housebound. You'll ALL benefit.

Love and hugs,

Nancy (Nanbert)

P.S. Suggest keeping a puzzle in progress most of the time...most people can't resist sitting and putting in a few pieces now and then... and it lends itself to some of the best conversations ever...at the same time. Great ice breakers...great for bonding!

(Use a puzzle board under it, so it can be moved elsewhere when you want to free the table where you've been working on it.)
