Shoshanna Stone (Adam's publicist) on Twitter: No Adam Lambert On The American Idol Finale "Nope"

We assume this answers the question about Queen + Adam Lambert as well....

Off topic.
About Adam's response to being called a Godfather, I looked it up in my computer's dictionary and came to the conclusion that it fits him.
This is what it gives as definitions. He qualifies for both #1 and #2. #2 would be non binary pop, not comedy.
The last definition, of course not.

1 a man who presents a child at baptism and promises to take responsibility for their religious education.
2 a man who is influential or pioneering in a movement or organization: the godfather of alternative comedy.
• a person directing an illegal organization, especially a leader of a Mafia family.

About if Adam would be appearing on Am Idol this season. I gave that up long ago. No surprise there.

What is the reason why? I was looking forward to maybe something. Is Adam to busy?
To bad.

I'm not disappointed ... I really think American Idol has changed too much from the original show .. I don't even bother to tune in anymore!! So it's back .. so what!! ADAM simply would outshine everyone on the show!! JMHO

Other than fans just wanting to see Adam on TV, IMO there is absolutely no benefit in Adam participating in a show that is barely a shadow of it's former self. AI's glory days are well past, never to be resurrected - Adam has smartly moved on. There are other platforms for him to conquer.

As I have always said to my kids, "Look forward, not back."

If Adam was going to be on Idol, I would be watching and loving it like everyone else here. But I'm relieved he won't be on. He has nothing of his own to promote, so it would have been Queen-related. Apparently, the PTB at Idol are not too interested in former Idols. I know they had Carrie on, and they had one of the later contestants from "Idol 1" who is promoting an album.

I'm happy to wait for Adam's new projects to emerge. And the QALs in Europe and Vegas will be a treat. I'm ok with all that.

Since we are not privy to what goes on behind closed doors, could be that former idols had no interest in AI rather than the PTB not interested in former idols! The successful idols are very savvy, and may have uniformly felt that a stint on an AI reboot was of little value in their careers.

Anon8, you could be right. Maybe Adam feels this way. Anyway, I'm looking forward to new stuff.

Just a thought off topic. I wonder if, since Sauli smokes, which I am sure he won't be able to do in the jungles in the Philippines, if he will give up smoking when he gets back, in a few weeks. Sure hope so. It is such a hard thing to do, but he has no choice now, unless he rolled up a few leaves and tried that, HA HA.

Everyone....do you realize that since it's become evident that Adam will not be on American Idol this season.....you are all talking about it like it's "sour grapes"?

There was/is some good talent on AI this season....with or without Adam "guesting". It drew huge audiences, and will be back next year.....for Adam to "guest" on...hopefully.

Anne Marie...you always seem very interested in Sauli. Do you know him personally? You seem to know a lot about, and be very involved in, his life. Why? Just because he and Adam used to be an item? (and are still friends)...or are you friends with Sauli?

Nanbert, I think most of us would have loved seeing Adam and/or QAL on the Idol finale for several reasons. First, we all want to see Adam on network TV, period. We love him and want to see him. Second, we assume that an Idol appearance will somehow be beneficial as a promotional move. New single, new album, new tour, whatever. Any guest performer wants that perk from their appearance. But in reality, those "boosts" are probably pretty negligible. It would have been nice to see Adam on the show, but it likely would have made little difference for him, career-wise, other than to just remind non-fans that he's still "out there."

I don't feel sour grapes. I just kind of shrug my shoulders and say, "Oh well." He can work on more effective promo when it really counts for him, which isn't for a while yet. Idol sure didn't bring out a slew of alums to show off. The viewership is doing well, but I don't think it's anywhere near what it used to be. Like I said earlier, if he had been on, I would have flailed my butt off and enjoyed it. But as it is, I just think that, just like me, he's moved on.

Late to the party here, but just wanted to say a couple of things re Idol and Adam:

My biggest reason for wanting/hoping that Adam would appear on Idol for the finale, along with Queen, would have been:

1. Promotion for the Queen + Adam Lambert residency in Las Vegas in September. Not only would they have been seen on the show but no doubt there would have been articles about their appearance, with the LV residency noted in the article.. I think that would have been extremely helpful in promoting the event and making it known. Every little bit (and big bit..) helps.

2. To remind viewers just how incredible, how talented, Adam Lambert is as a performer and vocalist. And again to give him a little promo for his upcoming music, even though we don't know when it will be coming out.

3. Introduce some new fans to Queen + Adam Lambert AND to Adam himself..

I'm not feeling sour grapes etc.. It was never a sure thing but many of us fans were hopeful that a some point he would make an appearance on the show. It seemed like it should happen as he's been a regular in some capacity since his own season in 2009. But then again, it didn't happen so perhaps next season when he has new music to promote. We'll see.....

About the new incarnation of Idol: I've been watching and honestly have been pleasantly surprised that it's pretty good. Some really talented contestants. Adam is and always will be my Number 1 Idol contestant EVER but I do enjoy watching the performers. And there were some good ones this year.

And about Sauli: I really liked Sauli when he was with Adam and I, like Anne Marie, try to keep up with what he's doing. He's a sweetheart and still a good friend of Adam's. I loved it when they were (and occasionally, are) together and I met Sauli briefly (purely by accident, literally running into him once at a concert, and saying hello to him at another one..). I don't mind hearing about his latest activities. And wish him the best in his personal life and career.
