Love it! Can't wait to see it!

So excited! Adam looks cute as hell. Reminds me of Dusty Madrid. Wonder if his name will be in the credits? He is the front man for Queen, after all.

Wow! I doubt that I would have recognized him, judging from the photo above. Maybe he does something unusual which helps identify him. Guess I'll see soon.

I am very upset that Adam did not attend this event. I thought he was part of the family now.

Mirela... yes, it might have been nice if Adam attended ....in a way. But, actually "Queen" is a completely separate entity (family/business) from "Queen and Adam Lambert". Plus, there are years between the death of Freddie and the advent of Adam. Perhaps it was decided that Adam's presence would be a "distraction" to what seems to be primarily a Freddie Bio./Celebration.

Also, Adam seems to be pretty busy with his own engagements now....with possible conflicts.

What I'm most interested in at this point is the relationship within "Queen and Adam Lambert" during the next leg of their "giant tour"....now that this long-simmering movie has finally been released.

Will they finally release some DVD's of the QAL performances?..Will they record any music together? Will Freddie still be as heavily represented during their tour? Will more of Adam's music be included in the performances? Will the Freddie die-hards continue to "trash" Adam at every opportunity?

Somehow I feel that the movie "Bohemium Rhapsody" will "draw a line" between the past and the present/future.

But it's important to remember that Queen's first loyalty is contractually to its "original family" and all aspects of their "brand"...albums, movies, DVDs, etc. ---the income of which is shared among all original members and/or their heirs...some or all perhaps involved in decision making as well as profit-taking. Brian and Roger are not completely free to operate or make decisions unilaterally.

Yes, Adam is part of the "Queen and Adam Lambert family", but not the "Queen" family. He is paid as frontman by Queen, and has decision-making rights only about their performances, as I understand it.

The "Queen and Adam Lambert" tours have been great "advertising" for the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody". It remains to be seen if the movie will, in turn, help to promote the next QAL tour.

Long live "Queen and Adam Lambert"....Iconic Collaberation/Partnership! LOVE THEM!!!!!

Adam will be attending the New York City Premiere of "Bohemian Rhapsody" the movie.

Nanbert, after so many years of concerts with Queen I think that Adam should no longer be treated as a collaborator. And other bands changed their vocalist for various reasons and the newcomer was treated as a member of the band even if some fans did not like it
I still think that Adam was supposed to be among the guests especially because he has a short appearance in the movie. There are people invited to the event who have no connection with the band or the movie. Adam appeared on the red carpet as a guest at the premiere of other movies (recently "A Star is born").
I think Adam's presence at the premiere in London would have been perceived as a tribute to Freddie.

I consider Adam the great absent on the red carpet of this premiere.

Nanbert said...

Good....That makes MUCH more sense for Adam to attend, since it will be in the U. S....and he is the American part of the "Queen and Adam Lambert" entity. It would be "rude" not to include him in his OWN country, IMO, especially since he has been promoting Freddie during concerts long before the movie came along...and promotes the movie now in interviews.

Nanbert said...

Oops, Mirela...my last remark (at 1:42) was in response to Glitzylady's informatiom about
Adam attending the movie's N.Y premiere, not yours at 1:15.

I actually feel the same as you about Adam's attendence...to both premieres...considering his intimate relationship with Brian and Roger. But truthfully, we don't know if he was invited to both, but was unable to attend the London function because of scheduling problems. Nor do we know whether or not any of the original "Queen" family or heirs had requested he not attend. I feel Brian and Roger would have invited him if they were able to. And I feel he would have attended if he was free.

We'll probably never know the truth, so no point in lamenting Adam's absence from the London scene...it's natural to consider it a "slight", but there may be an innocent explanation.

Also, you seem to indicate that you would like for Adam to become an actual member of Queen. It's possible that Brian and Roger aren't free to do that...even if they wanted to. But I feel that Adam would prefer to keep his separate identity and career.

Dee R Gee said...

I guess I'm just not upset about Adam not being at the London premiere. It's a long flight and he will be seeing Brian and Roger at the NY premiere. Hope he gets some media face time.

Would love to see him get his name in the credits of the movie, but since his role is not a speaking part, he may not. I'd love to see it, though, simply because he IS the official front man of Queen.

Kind of disappointed at Adam's answer to that tweet about then his new music will be out. He replies, "I wish I could tell you." So something is holding it up. Could be label issues. Could be a management thing. Could even be that since QAL will be touring again next year, he doesn't want to release a new album and not have a chance to get out and promo it and put together a tour. We just don't know.

He didn't say, "Sometime before the end of this year," like he's been saying. Nothing we can do but wait till he tells us.

And the new videos of him being interviewed about the Wicked special are very good. I assume they will be posted here soon.

Ha! I knew I didn't make it up when I had read that Adam himself said he has a cameo in the movie! Heads up Glamberts, I read that Adam comes out after 30 minutes of the film and apparently the scene is at a gas station! So BE AWARE, BE VERY AWARE! Bwaaaaahaaaaaa!!!

Sorry for the spoiler alert!

Wow !! Just got back from Bohemian Rhapsody film, excellent πŸ‘Rami Malek unbelievable as Freddie, saw Adam in cameo part wouldn't have recognised him , if I hadn't been 'tipped off' very poignant film can't believe I was in that crowd at Lve Aid in 1985, said to my hubby, I didn't think we were in the middle of such a huge crowd !!didn't seem that large but we were a LOT younger, then the year after saw Queen at Knebworth , their last ( I think ) big festival concert. Adam, you are obviously not Freddie, BUT NOBODY could do the job better than you, felt quite emotional to be honest, a must film to see !

Sue Smith said...

I definitely agree on that NOBODY on this planet in this century could do the job any better or even come close
Vocally and performance wise as Adam does with Queen since Freddie Mercury the original. They are different Adam does it differently but it so works beautifully.

Rosemary White said...

Shelagh, thanks so much for your POSITIVE comments about "Bohemian Rhapsody" the movie, and how FANTASTIC that you and your hubby were at Live Aid in 1985 & then at Knebworth!!!!! What a blast!!!!!! I'm so looking forward to seeing this movie. :)

Shelagh said...

Rosemary thank you !! it was brilliant, I fell in love with Freddie all over again lol, just brought back loads of memories from the past as well,my hubby, who I've dragged to a few QAL concerts (and has also with me seen Queen and Paul Rodgers as their frontman), agreed there is nobody else EVER, who could remotely come close to Adam being their frontman, am going again next week with my "QAL friend" who comes to most of the QAL concerts with me, can't wait again LOL xx

Rosemary White said...

Shelagh, something tells me I'll be seeing the movie more than once too. I'll probably buy the CD as well.

Shelagh...How fortunate to see the film already, I have to wait for next weekend. What an honor for you to be there at Live Aid and witness history. I was not there in person but in spirit back home in my living room! I actually taped ( with my trusty VCR, and VHS tape cassette) about 16-18 hours worth of Live Aid coverage! My parents didn't mind one bit, I left my VCR running continuously all these hours, When it came for Queen's appearance it was early afternoon, so I was wide awake then and yes I too couldn't wait to see them perform, even tho back in the 80s I was a huge Duran Duran fan BUT I was waiting in anticipation for QUEEN because I was fascinated with Freddie Mercury and Queens music as well, so I need to transfer my Live Aid event tapes into DVDs, haha! I can't wait to see the movie, thinking of wearing my QAL tee shirt, lol. Did anyone sing along with the songs from the movie? I might have the urge to sing out loud ( well NOT THAT loud) along with the guys on the movie. Lol. Oh yeah I think I'll take some tissues because I WILL cry. Just watching the trailers on television gets me sentimental, so many memories with all their songs. Sigh πŸ˜”

I am handicapped I want to see the movie very badly. Live in a small town about 100 miles from Houston. There is a theater in a small town next to us. I assume it will come next week you never know try fine out. Two of my girls live in Houston, probably be all over the place there. I'm glad the movie is so good its had mixed reviews but good ones for Rami M. The true review in my opinion is people that see it and enjoyed it and want to go back again.
I was not a Freddie Mercury fan my girls knew more about him than I did but of course now because of Adam I am a huge Queen fan. It would be nice to learn more about him it would even had to my love of QAL I have only seen videos of him just going by the videos no one other than Adam could do justice to the Queen concerts and his legacy. There nobody either that would be as respectful to his legacy either as Adam is. I doubt anyone body other than Adam who doing the tremendous job he doing with Queen would give that speech he gives about Feddie he does not have to pretty sure it's his idea he a humble hugely talented man.
I am really glad it's doing well Brian and Rodger have put a lot of time into the movie, years actually into getting it done. I'm happy for them. I'm also happy there will be lots of QAL next year Adam is in the current chapter of Queen and its spectacular as well! Correction that was only adds to the legacy.

Sue Smith said...

Cant wait for the NY premier either. I think its Monday. Adam will be there I believe. Remember the Wicked special monday.

Unknown said...

What?! You were there?! I'm super jealous!!! Could you compare Freddie to Adam? If it's even possible

Nanbert said...

Unknown...I suspect it would be like comparing apples to oranges....both superb...but quite different....each equally perfect with Queen music.

It would have to boil down to personal preference, IMO.
