A back-up dancer of American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert was temporarily held at the airport after yielding ammunition for an Armalite rifle, which later turned out to be fake, a police official said on Monday.

Chief Superintendent Pedro Desuasido, chief of the police Aviation Security Group, said 20-year-old Taylor Brattun Green was about to board the Cathay Pacific flight 900 en route to Hong Kong at around 11 a.m. when he was accosted at the departure area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminal 1.

Desuasido said authorities spotted 18 pieces of ammunition for Armalite rifle contained in one of Green’s luggage during an X-ray inspection.

Upon checking, however, authorities found that the ammunition were fake.

“The ammunitions confiscated were used as props during their concert,” Desuasido said, quoting a report from his officer.

Green was eventually released without charges filed.

Lambert held a concert at the SM Mall of Asia concert grounds on Sunday.

the fake set of bullets shld have been packed in the props and accessories crate box and not with back up dancer Taylor Green. caused a little stir there. but the Airport authorities are jst doing their job. this kind of situation can happen at any Airport facility around the world esp now that security is always at high risk.

Taylor should have known better. He is lucky to be released. All props should be packed together. He could have ruined the concert or been a bad reflection on the Glam Nation Tour.

I totally agree with 6:41. Why were props in his luggage? We do not any bad things associated with Adam. Is this a first time? Went to three concerts, never seen any rifles.

isn't that Adam's necklace Taylor is wearing

I think he bought them to use in a bracelet, if his tweets give any clues. The part about the props is probably misinformation.

Taylor is young and probably didn't think about it. Hey, we've all been young...
I agree that these are probably not props. Where
in the concert do we see rifle ammo?

I don't see a necklace, just sunglasses?

Things that are innocent to us in the U.S. might not be considered that way overseas. Taylor probably a little shook up over incident. After all, he is not Paris, who is used to be detained. Ha,ha. couldn't resist. Big news day, the X-factor and the Malaysia dust up. Adam and company are in a pretty scary part of the world. Can only hope they all stay safe and get out of Malaysia. Also hope Adam not forced to cancel show and disappoint his Malaysian fans. BTW a bullet bracelet?? Sounds...

They looked like real bullets in a news clip. One could think he's a manchurian candidate..

I agree about the "being young" comment. Years ago crossing the border from Mexico to the U.S. my friend thought it would be funny to answer the question, "what do you have to declare?" with the words "heroin". This answer got us pulled aside and interrogated for 2 hours! Funny now but was scared shitless back then!!! Live and learn. Adamluv

Adamluv, yes, we all probably have done some pretty dumb things in our youth! Hopefully, those of us with kids don't have to live through anything scary like this or worse!

Glad it all worked out for the best.

There aren't any rifles anywhere in the GNT. Heard it was a bullet bracelet which is more believable and don't know how accurate their press is and if it's just propaganda, trying to disparage him because he's part of the tour. Can/t blame airline security, just doing their job, but question the rifle part. The bracelet could have been part of his costume. A lot of disension in Malaysia and extremists lokking to discredit the tour. funbunn40
