From the comments I read on the other thread, I thought this was going to be all about Adam's sexuality, which it isn't. Certainly that came up, but there was a lot of other information that was covered too. Granted, we know most of it. We are obsessed after all. LOL.

I enjoyed the way it was handled from what I have seen. I suspect there is more, but so far it is missing the cruise ship days and Wicked. Maybe that comes later.

I did like how they started off with the GNT and "international super star". I would like to have seen more of that. Again, maybe more comes later.

I, from the 3 parts above, think the sexuality was appropriately focused on, not too much, but it is part of his story, so it can't and shouldn't (IMO) be ignored. There seemed to me more focus on his rebellious nature, internal drive to get in the business, and frustration with being different, not necessarily just sexually.

I can't wait to see the rest. I am hearing there is not a lot about his new album and the recording process like we hoped, which is a little disappointing. Regardless, I look forward to seeing the rest.

From these 3 parts above, I think that it has the potential to bring more people in to the fandom.

It was great to watch. I agree with some of the other posters that there was a lot of focus on his sexuality. I would have liked to see more on his award nominations, incl the win of the Much music award, his charities, his tour, with screaming fans etc. The whole thing was about being gay :( . This is important but not for the whole show!

I loved the BTM special because just listening to Adam speak so intelligently and clearly, plus looking at that handsome face for a whole hour is very satisfying! Certainly there was a lot of information that most of us die hard fans have heard before but also there was a lot of new footage, comments, pics I hadn't seen or heard before. I think they did a good job in showing the various transitions in Adam's life and all the challenges he has had to overcome and left the viewer with a positive attitude toward Adam. The special shows all sides of Adam and how he's blossomed in to an international superstar entertainer. It would have been nice to see and hear a little more about his work on the 2nd album in the studio. Hopefully, this special has sparked a new interest in Adam for those people who are either on the fence about Adam or even non-fans.

@ Sister(real one!)Great synopsis! Agree with all you said. One hour isn't long enough for all that we know and would have liked for others to see and get to know Adam. It was afterall meant to show the obstacles he faced on his way to stardom.I thought it was well done.....! Shiggles, I had to keep pausing and going back to that same heart stopping handsome Ten Commandments pic and would also love to have a copy. He oozes sex and that smile! Thud! funbunn40

Shiggles and funbunn40 my local music shop imported the DVD of The 10 Commandments for me about 20 months ago, from USA, so maybe it is still available somewhere, to obtain this way if you are not in the States.

All in all, good, though a little too much harping on the sexuality issue. I would have loved to hear him sing a song as a young boy, teenager or youth; only got a few seconds of that. Then we will be able to watch/hear the young genius in Adam and relate that to the present. Even those few seconds triggered my curiosity. I have heard a temple song Adam sang at the age of ten, just the audio, so pure, sang from the diaphragm; he already got the correct technique from so young. The subsequent interviews actually interested me more. They show a very relaxed and confident Adam...but still very sexy and cheeky.

I agree that an hr. wasn't long enough...all in all,it was handled pretty well.If they had covered all of Adam's charities( just listed,or told a little about his big heart & ALL of them)then maybe more non "die-hard fans", like us,would vote for him for the Do Something awards.He's up against Bieber,Gaga,& Nick Jonus,etc..Bieber won in a category against Bruno Mars( last night in the Teen Choice awards)Of course,that was to be expected,I guess)so we need to VOTE big time in the days we have left til 8-14-11.I did enjoy the special,tho.A lot was covered in an hr.We needed @ LEAST,two,didn't we?( I would have watched as many hrs as they could have come up with-lol!)

It was a great interview but they didn't include Adam's time in "Wicked" nor that he was part of the band "Citizen Vein". I thought they could've given more time to his musical career.

Hey Fan4fun, rushing is not good for your condition. Whenever possible, sit down and relax, listen to Adam sing. According to doctors even ten minutes sitting down gives the heart/lungs sufficient and much needed rest and is very effective. Feeding people is a very noble job.

Adam came across as the icon in the making that he is. FYE was a huge success on an international level and they focused on that. It really portrayed him to be a loveable person and a great entertainer.
They could easily do a 2 or 3 hour special on Adam already.

Adam is going to be a pop/rock star, I think that's the reason there is not too much emphasis on his theater coverage and they show lots of his edgy stuff . Very compelling story outline his sexuality together with his music as the background. He looks stunning beautiful and this can be his early autobiography. Wish it is longer.

Not sure why they spent time on "gay" information but whatev. Is there more? I cut my cable so I appreciate that it's on here but looks like there should be another installment.

Maybe someone will tackle Adam's life from a strictly musical standpoint/journey one day. There is a story to be told from the perspective of how he grew as an artist, his musical influences, theater, pop, etc. I think we are all tired of how supposedly shocking Adam being gay was because it just isn't, unless you've been living in a Cave all of your life.

FYE still is a huge success internationally where it has gone gold and platinum in many
countries. I don't think the US realize to the extent of Adams fame overseas and the love and adoration his fans have for him. He gave sold out performances ALL over the world, awesome performances. To date many were the best of all time because Adam could come out the box with comfort which created an atmosphere which was breathtaking. I've loved Adam way prior to Idol and new he was a star even then.

They included the musical Hair I guess because Adam had to appear on the stage naked so maybe they thought that all tied in with his being gay (huh?), but failed to include Wicked because, I suppose, he was fully clothed for that ... lol. They really did dwell on his sexuality a lot. All in all though, it was an interesting doco and Adam looked drop dead gorgeous.

He may be gay, but he doesn't hide the fact that he wants female acceptance. I think the overwhelming attention he received from women during his Idol run did something for his ego. I think he is curious about women and what makes them tick. He wouldn't mention it if he wasn't interested. It is obvious he has male/female heterosexual crushes. He is fascinating and it will make him a very wealthy man.

It is all good, people can talk about Adam's sexuality and struggle to death before the album drop. By the time his new single out, they will concentrate on his music.

This BTM was wonderful to watch and Adam looked gorgeous, which is a no brainer anyway. And I know some people mentioned it should have been maybe more emphasis on the music. But you got to remember, this is BEHIND the music, meaning his life leading up to what and where he is now. How he got there, the struggles, especially being gay, that sort of thing. And that was totally represented in this BTM segment. And, I think they did a great job in presenting his music in the segment. I thought it was all great. I'm hoping that those who didn't see it before can can see it now what a wonderful person Adam truly is and is inspiring in the way he presents himself. Totally adore the guy!

Have to agree with above post, Adam is fascinating! Thought the BTM show very well done. Like most fans, would have liked to see more Adam and his music, but we all have tons of that also. The closing shot of Adam a real WINNER!!!

I watched Fantasia's and Hudson's BTM just to become familiar of how it was done for these two former Idols. IMO Adam's BTM was done much much better than theirs. As the former RCA CEO put it Adam comes across as a multi-platinum artist and that means a lot.

That was so cute to see Adam walking into that room and was caught humming a tune to what appears to be one of his new songs!

Agree completely with @9:51. I will watch for the Ricky Martin segment though to see if they focus as much on HIS sexuality as much as they did Adam's. And...was it just me were a lot of the interview clips with friends/family used in True Hollywood Story not long ago?

I loved Monte's calm take on the AMA. I never thought about what he was thinking before that. Also was interesting to hear RS reporter say that was the easiest scoop she ever got, lol.

I didn't like that they mostly beat the dead horse of his sexuality; however, it did renew my excitement for his new album. Thank for posting this! :)

I dont think Adam has any curiousity about women at all. He knows what makes them tick. He has always been accepted by them. His dad has said Adam always had a swarm of girl "friends". He had more in common with them (after all they both liked boys). Girls befriended him and he was comfortable with them, still is. His BFF's are Danielle, Scarlett, Carmit and Alisan. When he becomes a friend, he stays a friend. Many gay men's best friends are female. It's no mystery, it's simple, it's just that
Adam's desire for sexual satisfaction is with another male. Simple.

Well put 8:19. Guess the original post was deleted. People just don't get it. If you're a straight guy, just imagine if that was "wrong" and you were suppose to only have sex with men. Walk in those shoes, and the torture these people go through will become a bit more evident.

I thought the most moving statement from BTM was Adam saying that there's nobody out there that tells you being gay or bi is OK when you're a kid. So very sad.

Adam is a survivor. His toughness is very real.

I think this BTM documentary will inspire a lot of people to do things they feel good and right for themselves and for others. This Adam quote is wise: "The real key is to find the love you have for yourself." - Adam Lambert
Yea, agree, it is when you understand and love yourself that you will then be able to understand and love others. To me, understanding oneself is of utmost importance because only then, will you be able to take the necessary steps to achieve your goal.

In reference to my comment I just don't understand why people don't "get it"??? There seems to be a whole new population in this country who think homosexuality is a new "fad"!
Where have they been? It's always existed. It's not scary, it just is a part of human nature .

I LOVED this BTM on Adam... thought they did a WONDERFUL job.
Yes there was time spent on his sexuality which we should expect by now no matter what--glorious voice and talent YES... but like they said about Elvis not being filmed from the waist down-- ahem, "did ya look at him from the neck UP??" Doesn't matter, (like Elvis) Adam's sex APPEAL is undeniable and attractive universal, to women and men (and basically anything with a pulse.

Adam IS a very sexual being, period. He IS the first to own up and be OPEN & honest about his sexuality FIRST, not after his career was established, AND he uses that sexual energy and appeal on stage to the max. Lucky us!! What a TOTAL entermainment package. I'm really beginning to understand just how perfect the song "FYE" is for him! He wears that sexual APPEAL SOOOO well, the reallity of what's behind it is always going to be a part of his story. No denying it, plus the things he's done on stage--no way it's NOT going to be covered.

Back to BTM-- I really felt if you didn't know anything about Adam, this was a GOOD representation of WHAT HE'S ABOUT, and the PRESENTATION of the information was done well, in a respectful, 'FAIR-to-his-side-of-the-story' manner. NOT the 'E True Holywood Story' presentaion which WAS fairly sensationalized right from the promo that made me flip out and go on a rant here.
I was also really pleased that the buzz surrounding the DETAILS Magazine shoot,(swoon) AND the backlash from OUT magazine were also presented to show a little of the already tense emotions at the time of the AMA show. NOT just ===>>> omg look what he did!!!<<====
This one should go long way in being a positive boost for his career.
