At around 2:20, some security guard was harassing someone who was trying to take a picture. Adam made kicking and waving motions at the guard and worked something like "get out" into the song. He then stopped in front of the fan and said "Take my picture, b****!". A lot of fans are happy he stuck up for one of them.

Adam Lambert's 'If I Had You' debuts on Billboard Hot 100 !!
Filed Under (article, charts,If I Had You ) by Admin on
Posted at : Friday, July 02, 2010

It's been a long time coming for some Adam Lambert fans in the United States, but "If I Had You" is now officially a part of the Billboard Hot 100. In the newest chart ranking released Thursday morning, the track (which is his third single off of "For Your Entertainment") is sitting at #94. Meanwhile, "Whataya Want From Me" is also holding on strong in the top 50 at #47.
However, what may be most impressive for Adam is what is going on north of the border on the Canadian Hot 100. After just five weeks of release, "If I Had You" has moved up all the way to #29 -- in the past week along, the song jumped up 17 spots. With the kind of love Adam is getting in Canada, you would almost think he was born in the country (though he did live in Toronto for a few months earlier in his career).
So what caused the movement onto the American Hot 100? The main attributing factors seem to be digital sales and radio airplay, and Adam's song has seen a substantial rise in both in the last week. The new music video helped to create more exposure for the song through TV, which always stretches out into other mediums.
Are you thrilled to see "If I Had You" make the jump?

Adam's featured in the "On My iPod" section of the July 9/16 issue of Entertainment Weekly:::
"I'm an iTunes whore," says the singer, whose Glam Nation tour runs through Sept. 21. "I'm constantly downloading new music.. and spending way too much money." - Michael Slezak
> Sia "Her new album [We Are Born] is amazing. 'Clap Your Hands,' the single, is really catchy."
> Mike Posner "He has that 'Cooler Than Me' song. It's almost like a modern-day Rat Pack sound. Really cool."
> Christina Aguilera "I love 'Bionic,' the first song on her new album [of the same name]. It's the sexiest thing ever. People are maybe criticizing some of her [recent] visual coices, which I understand. But musically and vocally, I think she's incredibly original."
> Robyn "Love her new stuff. 'Dancing on My Own' is great. She also has a song called 'Dancehall Queen' that is so sexy. That whole reggae undercurrent -- Rihanna has that, 'Bionic' has that, and so does Robyn. There are some other guys out there who have a little of that too. B.o. B.'s album is really cool; Bruno Mars is really dope."
> Miike Snow "I know it came out last year, but the whole [self-titled] album is on repeat for me [when I need to] chill and unwind a little bit. It's catchy, it still has some tempo, but it's just... nice, you know? Have a glass of wine, take your shoes off, kick your feet up, and just breathe."

Adam Lambert Interview with The Music Fix
Filed Under (interview, tour news ) by Admin on
Posted at : Thursday, July 01, 2010
International pop sensation, Adam Lambert, called TMF's Joe for a natter about boats, Bowie and boys.

Where are you at the moment?
I am in Norfolk, Virginia.
How’s the tour going?
It’s good! It’s really good. The audiences have been sold out every time, every venue we’ve been at. It’s really exciting. I’m having a blast.
Cool. How do you find life on the road?
It’s good. It’s a lot of work. I mean, it is hard.
Do you ever get chance to relax?
Yeah. I had a day off yesterday. It was really great. Some of my band and my dancers rented a fishing boat and, you know there’s not a lot to do in Norfolk, Virginia so we were like, “ok, What can we do?”. So, we found this boat and cruised around Chesapeake Bay and did some fishing and, you know, why not?
Yeah, sounds fun. You’ve got a really, really passionate fan base. What’s the strangest thing one of your fans has done?
Erm, you know I get interesting gifts sometimes. Like, I get really sweet gifts but then sometimes it’s like handmade tchotchkes and you’re like “ok...thanks?”.
Do you find there’s a lot of pressure on you? Like, the whole tour is on your head?
The pressure hasn’t gotten to me. I’m fortunate for that. When I get up on stage I do realise that if I’m not feeling it...it’s all on my shoulders. I definitely step up to the plate when I hit the stage. I have to. It can be draining in that regard, but it’s hard to mind because the audiences have been so intense. They give you a lot of energy.
Do you ever miss your Broadway days?
Not yet. Part of the reason I wanted to go into this was because I wanted to be myself on stage. I wanted to be my own artist and I think that that’s been the most important part.
Is there anything in your career that you want to do, but haven’t yet had the opportunity?
I would like to do some acting work, but I haven’t yet and there isn’t anything booked. It’s something that I’m curious about. I think it’d be really cool to be in a film.
If you were to undergo a dramatic pop transformation (ala David Bowie, Madonna etc), what would you like to reinvent yourself into?
I don’t know. I guess if I wanted to do something really drastic, I’d go the complete opposite way from all the glam. You know? Do something really conservative just for the fuck of it, you know?
Yeah, just you and a piano?
Yeah. In a plain suit and no make-up...But you know what, I’ve done that before. I don’t know if it would surprise anybody. That was kind of my schtick on Idol.
Is there anyone who you’d like to collaborate with?
I’ve been really fortunate already, but I think it would be really amazing to collaborate with David Bowie. I think that would be incredible, but I think he’s pretty M.I.A.
So, I read on Wikipedia that you’re “the first openly gay mainstream pop artist to launch a career on a major label in America”. Do you feel any responsibility to represent gay people in the American mainstream?
Not really. That’s definitely been an interesting point. I feel like, I’m honoured to be a part of that community and I’m honoured to be identified as the first blah-blah-blah-blah, but I think the thing about it is the only person I’m responsible for representing is myself. I think that it’s kind of ignorant to assume that just because I am one of the few, I have to represent a whole group of people.
It’s interesting that there are so few openly gay people in the American media. You can only assume there are people who hide their sexuality. Do you think it’s hard for people to be gay in the American media?
Yeah, it’s really hard. I think there’s a reason why a lot of people in the entertainment industry are private about it. It becomes so exploited and sensationalised by the media in general. It’s all anybody wants to talk about. There is good that comes from that, because it raises visibility, it’s good for young people growing up who maybe need role models. I see that there is good that comes from it, but I also think that it can quickly overshadow the product that I have, which is music. Who I’m in bed with on my private time doesn’t mean that this is a good song or a bad song, you know what I mean?
Do you think it might affect the number of female fans you’ve got?
I actually think it’s probably picked me up more female fans. It’s a catch-22. There’s probably the girl who’s like, “Oh he’s gay, so I’m not into it” and there’s the next girl that’s like “oh, he’s gay, I like that”.
And like you say, it should really be your songs that you’re judged on.
Yeah, I think the people that are listening to my music are there because they like my music.
Are you in a relationship at the moment?
No, I’m single.
What kind of guy do you go for?
Pretty boys.
Will you be going to any pride festivals?
My schedule is like PACKED, so probably no pride festivals this year. I was really excited that I got to close gay pride in Sydney though, a couple of months back. That was really fun.
Tell me about your single, ‘Whataya Want From Me’.
Yeah. It was written by Pink, and Max Martin. It’s a great song. I think it holds a really universal message which is that moment in any sort of relationship which is, “I like you, but I’m overwhelmed and I’m vulnerable right now and it’s kind of freaking me out. I need a second”. I think it’s something we can all relate to.
What have you got coming up in the near future?
I’m on tour here in the States until September and then we go international. We go over to Asia, South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand and then we do Japan and then we go over to the UK.
The second single, 'Whataya Want From Me', from Adam's debut album, For Your Entertainment is out in the UK on July 19th

Vision becomes reality for Adam Lambert
Filed Under (article ) by Admin on
Posted at : Thursday, July 01, 2010

Days before “American Idol” runner-up Adam Lambert would kick off his Glam Nation tour, he held a little party for 40 of so of his best friends.
OK, not friends, exactly, but reporters from around the country, gathered in one big conference call. And we grilled him on everything from challenges facing an openly gay performer — “You might as well own it,” he said, adding that honesty is the key — to his horoscope sign and his plans for after the show in who-can-remember-where.
Oh, and the incident at last November’s American Music Awards came up, too, wondering if the controversial interplay with his dancers set the tone for what we could expect when Lambert and his entourage came to town. He hits the stage with fellow “American Idol” finalist Allison Iraheta and guitarist Orianthi on Monday, July 12, at the Chesaning Showboat Music Festival.
Tickets, $29.50 and $10, are available at the Chesaning Showboat box office and all Star Tickets Plus outlets.
“I have some surprises coming, wonderful surprises visually inspired by turn-of-the-century New Orleans and psychedelic rock,” he said. “It’s very sexy, but it is tasteful.”
So is Lambert, who for more than an hour was articulate and confident as he fielded our queries. You sense right away that his successes, from the new album, “For Your Entertainment,” to headlining his own traveling version of musical theater, are not blind luck.
This is a savvy, smart performer who looks on the likes of Madonna and Michael Jackson and says, “Let’s put on a show!”
“First and foremost, I’m giving audiences something to look at,” he said. “There’s a theatrical timeline, with a big acoustic section in the middle.”
Call it Victorian punk, kitschy glam black magic with a spiritual quality that will connect with audiences. Working with creative directors, “we’ve made my visions a reality,” Lambert said.
It was working on the tour — and the show’s last-minute decision to include runners-up in this year’s “American Idol” finale — that kept him away from the festive farewell to judge Simon Cowell.
“I wasn’t invited,” he said, adding that it started as only previous winners and Kris Allen was his season’s top vote-getter. “When they expanded it, I knew I needed to work. There were no hard feelings.”
Lambert’s attention is full-ahead on Glam Nation.
“Conformity isn’t my thing,” Lambert said. “I need to be me. But I realize too that my audience has certain expectations, and I have choices to make … Right now, it’s all pretty amazing, conceptualizing a headlining tour and, coming from theater, knowing how live performances come alive on stage. It’s a very emotional experience.
“I think, ultimately, it’s a matter of trusting my instincts. It’s also business, and I’m learning a lot about that, working with very talented, experienced people.”
And his fans are right there with him, coming up with catchy labels, such as the Finnberts in Finland, and even adopting his look. It’s enough, he said, that they’re spending their money on tickets; those who want to give a little more should check out www.donorschoose.org rather than showering him with gifts.
“It’s surreal,” Lambert said of adoration. “It’s always flattering, and a little strange. This is all insane; who would imagine it two years ago?”
So what would he tell those who want to become the next Adam Lambert?
“Make your own opportunities,” he said. “Audition for ‘American Idol’ and get a launching pad. Take risks. Put your eggs in a lot of baskets.”
“American Idol,” it’s an amazing platform, he added, and an interesting introduction to the industry. As he would tell this year’s runner-up, Crystal Bowersox, “Get ready; this is serious work … Keep your eye on the prize.”

5 Reasons Why Adam Lambert’s Glam Nation Tour Is A Must-See
Filed Under (article, tour news ) by Admin on
Posted at : Tuesday, June 29, 2010

He came. He saw. He covered the stage in glitter.
On Sunday night (June 27), Adam Lambert played to a sold-out crowd at Baltimore’s Rams Head Live as part of his first headlining trek around North America dubbed the Glam Nation tour.
The sometimes controversial, all the time intriguing glamster took fans on a laser and leather-filled ride through his debut album, For Your Entertainment. Lambert used the album’s title-track to mercilessly tease the crowd of mostly women of various ages and glitter coverage into swooning, screaming fangirls.
When he finally appeared — tall, dressed very Boy George-esque with a top hat perched on his head, simply gorgeous — at the top of a staircase directly in the middle of the stage, the screams grew deafening.
The screams never died down even as Adam traded high-energy tracks like “Fever,” “Strut,” and “Music Again” for soul-stirring — scratch that — soul-slaying easy listening numbers like “Sleepwalker” and “Soaked.”
The Glam Nation tour is a must-see. Here are five reasons why:

* 1. The opening acts, Allison Iraheta and Orianthi: We weren’t forced to yawn through a bunch of lame show-starters. These ladies put on rockin’ performances and even showed what Girl Power is all about when Orianthi joined Allison onstage for “Don’t Waste The Pretty.” Allison has blossomed immensely since her time on American Idol. She delivered her performance with confidence and fire. Orianthi, who was handpicked by Michael Jackson to play on his ill-fated This Is It tour, easily shamed male rockers twice her age with her guitar skills.
* 2. It’s not just a concert, it’s a chance to play dress-up: Fans took advantage of the Glam Nation’s number one unwritten rule which states you should show up in you most outrageously glam gear. Walking through the venue, I spotted men in tight leather, women in sequins leggings, black eyeliner for days, and buckets worth of glitter.
* 3. Girls — of all ages — just want to have fun: Glamberts are often accused of being a bunch of middle-aged women. Nothing wrong with that, but you’d be very, very wrong to assume that’s where Adam’s appeal ends. Girls of all ages were at the show to get their glam on. The best part: seeing a girl who had to be around 16 years old with her mother and grandmother all dancing and singing together.
* 4. The covers songs: Each act performed at least one kick-ass cover song: Allison took on Pat Benatar’s “Heartbreaker,” Orianthi and her guitar shredded through Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy,” and Adam gave a scorching rendition of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” (*Tears!* *Sadness!* Baltimore didn’t get Adam’s much-buzzed about “Whole Lotta Love” cover.)
5. THAT VOICE: Sure, you’ve heard Adam’s voice on TV and on the radio, but there’s nothing like hearing it live. Trying to explain it is a waste of time. Watch the video of “Soaked” above. Take how great it sounds there (minus the screaming fans) and multiply it by five. You might come close.

Adam Lambert beats out Carrie Underwood for radio airplays

Adam Lambert continues to hold onto the top spot when it comes to American Idol radio airplays. The For Your Entertainment artist narrowly beat out Carrie Underwood. According to USA Today's American Idol airplay chart, released today (Monday), Lambert's Whataya Want From Me was played just 50 more times than Carrie Underwood's Undo It. Each song was heard on the radio more than 7,500 times last week.
Underwood and Lambert, who both found sudden fame during their respective runs on American Idol, are both currently headlining North America tours. Underwood just wrapped the first leg of her Play On tour and is taking a few weeks-long break so she can get married. Lambert kicked off his Glam Nation tour earlier this month to huge success.
Ironically, neither Lambert nor Carrie Underwood are considered the most successful American Idol. Kelly Clarkson was recently named the most successful star to come out of the Fox show.

Looks like WWFM is not ready to step down yet. Maybe it's waiting for "If I Had You" to replace its popularity?

Adam Lambert Talks Importance Of Rhinestones, Pre-Show 'Rituals'
Filed Under (news, tour news, video ) by Admin on
Posted at : Tuesday, June 29, 2010

'We get in front of the mirror and kind of play every night,' Lambert tells MTV News of makeup artist Sutan on Glam Nation Tour.
Believe it or not, Adam Lambert does not wake up with rhinestones affixed to his cheekbones. The pop star, currently headlining his in-demand Glam Nation Tour, gets creative with his glittery stage makeup moments before showtime.
"We get in front of the mirror and kind of play every night," Lambert told MTV News backstage at a recent sold-out New York City tour stop. "We just create and it's fun. So sometimes there's like rhinestones stuck all over [the] side of my head. Sometimes we give a little Eastern bindi action. Sometimes there [are] no stones whatsoever," he added.
The "we" Lambert was referring to includes makeup guru Sutan, who has long been among Lambert's circle of friends. But fans may know the flamboyant makeup artist from his stint on "America's Next Top Model."
"He's so funny and has such a great energy, and I really like his work," Lambert gushed.
Rhinestones and face glue, however, aren't the only tools Adam needs to prep for a show. In order to maintain his powerhouse, octave-jumping voice, Lambert has finally zeroed in on a secret weapon: aerobics.
"I never used to be one to do any sort of ritual before I performed and just recently, at the start of this tour, I decided to start coming up with a routine. And it's really helped me," the singer said. "I exercise; I do like a cardio thing. If I'm in a hotel with a treadmill I either run for 20 minutes or I get on a stationary bike," Lambert continued. "It makes you feel good, it gets the endorphins going. It also kind of helps warm up the voice. And then I do a [proper] vocal warm-up."
As fun as the face painting is, the "Idol" star knows that ultimately, it's all about delivering the music. "Those two things — just a little exercise and that vocal warm-up — keep me at my best. With fans "waiting out on the street, people are so dedicated, they deserve the best," Lambert said.
His Glam Nation Tour continues through September, before heading overseas later this fall.
