Remembering First Lady Barbara Bush: When Adam Lambert Met President & Mrs. Bush At "Brigadoon" (Houston, TX March 2004)

Back before Adam Lambert became world famous on American Idol, with his subsequent world tours with Queen + Adam Lambert, and so much more, he was in musical theater from the age of 10. One of his roles was as "Charlie" in the beloved musical "Brigadoon".

In this photo below, Adam (aged 22) met and posed with President H. W. Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush. A moment made more poignant with the passing of Mrs. Bush at her home on April 17, 2018.

Listen to Adam Lambert sing this beautiful love song "Come To Me, Bend To Me" from "Brigadoon"

A description of this performance from the You Tube Video uploaded by The Best Arts: Almost 1 million views!

"Adam Lambert gives a brilliant performance of "Come to Me, Bend to Me" from "Brigadoon." There's no video, but we include some older photos of Adam that you may not have seen. The performance is from Houston's Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) in 2004 - so Adam was about 22 years old. Amazingly, this is from a "live" stage performance, not a studio recording with multiple takes."

NOTE: We here at Adam Lambert 24/7 News posted an article about Adam's "Brigadoon" performance and his encounter with the Bushes in this article from April 25, 2016, almost exactly 2 years ago. We included an article that was specifically about Adam's performance.. We're including a link so that you may check out the article "MasterClass Monday: Adam Lambert’s Extraordinary Version Of Come To Me From The Musical Brigadoon" from MasterClassLady.com

Quote from the "Master Class..." article: "Listen – I have heard this classic musical theatre song performed countless number of times in my musical career. However, none can surpass the immaculate, exquisite, perfect interpretation of this number as mastered by the mega – talented Adam Lambert."

Read the rest here. The article is linked...

That's right I remember seeing this pic before. I would not recognize Adam, if his name wasn't mentioned. I could only imagine Adam reliving that day he met the Bushes, for how fortunate to meet First Lady Barbara Bush! I liked her a lot and her humor. Her birthday was a day after mines, fellow Geminian. Now about Adam and his version of "Come to Me Bend to Me" is absolutely stunning! I'm so in love with the way Adam sings it, so clearly you can hear every word! It's just so heavenly and soothing to the ears. I also liked the article and in what it says about Adam!

What a perfect tie-in for Adam and Barbara Bush! She was a very classy lady. I always admired her. She was a person who transcended politics when it came to her simple humanity, kindness, intelligence, common sense and devotion to her family. Lucky to Adam that he got to meet the Bushes.

I have listened to Adam's "Come To Me, Bend To Me" countless times. Too bad there is no video. His voice is beyond exquisite. Love the article, too. It's amazing the people Adam has touched, long before he was famous.

Somehow I missed this... Both this recent posting of this and the one you posted 2 years ago... And this was like the first time I ever heard Adam do that songdot-dot-dot and utterly, absolutely, astoundingly amazing performance!
